And $50,000 fine for Max touching the rear wing…
Vettel joking over the radio, maybe he’ll touch the front wing… it might be worth $25,000

And then the sprint race, where it really shows how far ahead RB and Mercedes are…
Lewis all the way up to 5th from the back of the grid in 24 laps, and the gap from 2-3 place being basically 20 seconds…

Exciting race. I was surprised Verstappen got away with the turn 4 incident.

Any body think RB might take a new engine for the extra hp advantage within the next few races?
5 place grid penalty isn’t going to hurt that much if you can crank the engine up a bit.

Unless they have an engine with like an additional 50hp it would seem too risky to me. Verstappen took a new engine not that long ago I thought.

Oh, first Chinese driver in F1. Not that excited though - it's not like he's been setting F2 on fire (after 3 tries)...

He did. But with what, 3 races left, having an engine you can run at 100% for the remainder of the season because you dont have to think about reliability of having to last 8 races. Might be worth a shot.
To be clear, I mean the engine only, which is a 5 place grid penalty. Not the power supply unit which is a bigger hit.

We'll Oscar Piastri was already a Renault academy driver, so he wasn't an option. That's such a shame some talent like that has to sit and wait while Mazespin and Zhou have seats. My guess is the marketing opportunity in a huge market was a big deciding factorOh, first Chinese driver in F1. Not that excited though - it's not like he's been setting F2 on fire (after 3 tries)...

My appreciation of Hamilton is increasing - always thought he was a fair driver, seems like he makes a really conscious effort to be extra "clean"
I also get the feeling that Hamilton just might win his 8th title, as much as I'd like to see someone else finally win.

RIP Sir Frank Williams.
Peter Windsor posted a 20 minute youtube on him, needing to check it out tonight.

Having F1 end in the desert is not very fun...i've lost some excitement on top of all the human rights issues. It really should end in Brazil.

Wow. Verstappen might have thrown the championship away there.

I hope the winner gets on the podium with a T shirt saying "justice for Khashoggi"

I still dislike Louise, but very much appreciate him speaking out as much this weekend. Also hats off to Seb and his kart race. At least we're not in a situation where a crash out at turn 1 will seal the chip.

I'm glad Elmer's observations are right in line with the pundits and everyone on reddit. I can;t tell if I missed an amazing race or total shitshow.
