I kinda forgot about OTAP when I quit shooting at the end of the Racing season, I pop in there from time to time, but when I'm not shooting, I don't really think about Camera stuff that much. I guess I just have WAAAY too many hobbies...

I'd like to get rid of my D50 & D2h and get a D300, I have a Sigma 24 - 60 2.8 that I pretty much keep on the D50 all the time, I rarely ever use my 50, and the 70 - 200 pretty much lives on the D2h, I also have a 70 - 300, but rarely ever use it anymore since I got the 70 - 200.

2 for 1? I like having my backup D70 to keep another lens on. When that dies, I'll pick up a new D300 or something. I haven't picked up a D300 yet  So you only shoot racing? Anything else?

Well, I don't really need 2, although it is nice to be able to have a telephoto on one and a wide on the other... I really like them both, but they are getting quite old (especially the D2h) and I really like the D300 :wtc:

Pretty much all I shoot is racing, I do some other shooting, but I'm more of a technical shooter and not an artistic shooter, so I don't do too well when trying to do the artsy fartsy stuff...

It's all good bro.
Who woulda known...a frikkin' $700 helmet, and you can't even replace the damn pads. Not everyone makes F1-bucks and can afford a new Arai every fuggin' race goddamnit!! Even lesser motorcycle helmets can replace the pads :run:

I can call our Arai dealer tomorrow and see if i can get anything.

I know when we had a problem with the liners in a few customer helmets, we sent them off to a 3rd party to get them fixed. :o

OT: help my helmet :run:
I have an Arai GP5k, but it is tearing to bits. Does anyone know how to fix the cheek pads??? I don't want to pay for another helmet!! You'd think a helmet that cost this much would have replaceable cheek pads!!!

Actually, contact your Arai dealer/distributor. That looks like the exact same problem we had with ours. It was a defective batch of fabric that Arai got and they're warrantying all the helmets effected, free of charge.

If your distributor can't/won't help, you let me know and I can probably get it warrantied under our license.

I've decided to break my silence (or the there lack of) on this issue and mention something that's really been bothering me.

Everybody body is slagging him for the Nazi themed orgy, with emphasis on him being anti-semitic blah blah blah. Now I agree that's a big no no when you're in a position like his, but I think many people in the media and around the Auto industry are missing a point here. It seems to me that they're only concerned with Mosley's orgy because it is Anti-Semitic, not the fact he had an extra marital affair with 5 hookers!

Maybe it's just me being old fashioned and what not, but don't people in the industry need to condemn him for having an extra marital orgy (EMO :run:) too? I mean they talk about his integrity as the president of the FIA this and that, but it's ok to have an extra marital affair. What if he was fucking underage girls? or even worse, little boys?

Does the F1 media and Auto Industry only care about his Nazi theme and not so much about the orgy? So shouldn't the manufacturers in F1 use this as their slogan:

Fuck who ever you want in the back seat of our cars, just make sure you're not in a Nazi uniform while doing it.

I don't know, maybe I'm the one missing a point...

but here's my 2 cents (baht)

Eh, Europe doesn't care much about extramarital affairs.

Honestly, I don't think it's a big deal. Powerful men will always be able (and willing) to bone basically whoever they want. It's always happened, and always will, and doesn't effect their ability to do their job.

The Nazi thing, especially in Europe, is a huge deal. And if the president of the FIA is secretly anti-semetic (or racist or whatever), then that has a much bigger chance to effect if eh can govern in a truly fair manner than if he's screwing around on his wife (who quite likely knows and doesn't care about his affairs).

I really don't have a problem with the orgy, but I do hope it gets him sacked. I don't think a person should get fired for having a 5 girl orgy, but i'll settle for anything that gets rid of him.

Eh that may be the case, but I figure if they are calling is integrity into question, as the next average joe who can't get away with having an extra marital orgy, I want to see him strung by his balls and hung for a public stoning. :run:

Ehhh....... Max's predecessor, Jean-Marie Balestre, had open affairs all the time. Mostly with Brazilian hotties barely out of high school.

No big deal.

We would all do the same if we could.

Michael Schumacher returned to motorcycling action when he replaced Ducati's test rider Vittoriano Guareschi at Mugello today.

The seven-time Formula One champion, who had already tested for Ducati before, was called up by the Italian squad after Guareschi was unable to ride due to injuries following a crash on the second day of testing.

The German, who took part in a bike race at Misano last weekend, completed 42 laps on the GP8 with a best laptime in 1:58.0.

Schumacher made it clear again, however, that he has no intention to start a new career.

"It was a nice surprise yesterday when I received the sudden offer to come to Mugello today," Schumacher said. "And despite the difficult weather conditions it was again big fun to ride the Ducati.

"But I repeat it very clearly that I have no intention at all to step into any kind of MotoGP competitions."

so if Ducati's test driver is out, they call Shummi :mamoru:

Australian F1 audience
Channel 10, the Australian television station which airs each Grand Prix, revealed that the 2008 edition reached 11th position in the ratings for that week – behind a culinary show. 1.2 million viewers watched the very eventful race, including 627 000 in the State of Victoria where the Grand Prix was held. Only 199 000 watched from New South Wales, which includes Sydney, the country's largest city.

Having spent my first 22 years growing up in Australia, getting any sort of decent programming regarding Formula One was nigh impossible. It's contracted that F1 has to be shown on free-to-air TV, so Channel Nine used to host it, and put it on at all manner of times. But Channel Ten, which it switched to a few years ago, promised better times, live qualifying etc.

None of that was delivered and the quality appears to have got worse and worse.

It makes me appreciate ITV's shit coverage even more.

Eh, Europe doesn't care much about extramarital affairs.

Conservative politicans in the 1980s were always having affairs and no-one gave a shit as the country was going to the dogs. The attitude was 'Fuck who you want, just fix the fucking economy.

Honestly, I don't think it's a big deal. Powerful men will always be able (and willing) to bone basically whoever they want. It's always happened, and always will, and doesn't effect their ability to do their job.

Frankly, I don't give a shit what Max Mosley does in his spare time. I don't think there was any Nazi connotations or whatever to this so-called 'video' as Mosely has neither confirmed or denied it as yet. He's only apologised for the embarrassment of such a video existing.

However, Mosely has continued to run the sport professionally. I don't see why we think people like these should have clean private lives. These are not revered people. They are not religious people. They are just normal people like you and me, so if they like a bit of S&M, so be it...

Kimi, do you feel Max is acting responsibly?
"I don't really care."
Can you just give us your opinion?
"No."
How does Ferrari feel about it?
"I don't know and don't care why don't you ask them?"

Felipe, your opinion on Max Mosely's Nazi sex scandal?
"For sure, the track was slippery but I managed a fantastic lap."

Just tell them your helmet liner is wearing prematurely. If they don't offer to fix it, mention the recall you heard about.

funny enough, that wasn't far off from the truth :gaysex:

But Raikkonen is quoted as saying by the Mirror: "It's his personal life and he can do whatever he wants and it's not really my business or anyone else's to put their noses in."
