I can get behind this. Top tier team, steady headed teammate who won't throw fits when outquali'd, macca would likely be patient if perez wasn't quite up to speed to jens the first year.
God I hope this is true

Then again, many people said that Schumacher was stupid to go to Ferrari from the champion Benneton team, and that Jenson was dumb to move to McLaren from the champion Brawn team. So who knows how it'll go.
I'm glad Sergio got the seat at McLaren. I'm not sure who else would have really been worthy, based on this year's grid. It certainly puts Ferrari on the back foot in terms of Massa replacements as well.

When it first became clear that Lewis had found a sticking point with McLaren over a new contract in wanting to keep hold of his trophies, news of his negotiations with Mercedes was met with a cruel retort.
“That shouldn’t be a problem in his Mercedes contract. He won’t be winning any trophies.”

Big gamble. Doesn't look like it'll pay off now, but I guess we'll wait and see.

Massa or bust at this point. Honestly it was their own fault, with Montezemelo coming out every weekend saying Perez wasn't 'Ferrari-ready'.
Unless...
Ferrari take MS back and have a 10xWDC drivers duo next year (yeah, count em up, that includes Fred's 3rd this year). With the way things have gone in the last day, I am not ruling it out. Problem is then they will be faced with replacing two retiring drivers at the same time.
On a side note, I can't remember who I was talking to now, but I called this one:

Yep, Schumi to Ferrari on a 1-year deal. Vettel slots into the seat in 2014.

Ferrari take MS back and have a 9xWDC drivers duo next year (since kimi's got this years title...). With the way things have gone in the last day, I am not ruling it out. Problem is then they will be faced with replacing two retiring drivers at the same time.

I don't think anyone was calling Jens stupid for moving to Mclaren because he was leaving Brawn though, everyone could see the car would be trash next year. It had more to do with being teammates with Hambo.
Anyway will be interesting to see what happens next year.

This is good for Mercedes, good for Macca, obviously very good for Perez....the only person this is bad for is hammy.
I also don't see brawn dealing very well with hambone's impetuousness, nor louise showing patience and maturity finishing midfield while mercedes develops their car.

Schumi is still loyal to a fault, even if marinello wanted him, not sure he'd feel comfortable taking massa's drive
