I don't even hate alonso that much, just can't stand to see him kick Nick to the curb.

problem is, Nick doesn't seem quick anymore... it's like he was in a slump, Kubica joined the team, showed him up, Nick picked up the pace, now it seems he's falling back into old habits again... dunno...

Patrese's F1 dream comes true
By Simon Strang Wednesday, September 10th 2008, 08:50 GMT

Former grand prix driver Riccardo Patrese described his first experience of modern Formula One machinery as 'unbelievable' after testing Honda's RA107 at Jerez on Wednesday.

The 54-year-old, who drove for Arrows, Brabham, Alfa Romeo, Williams and Benetton in a career spanning 16 years from 1977-1993, was invited to drive Honda's 2007 car after Rubens Barrichello broke his record of 256 GP appearances.

The six-time grand prix winner completed five runs and set a fastest lap time of 1:30.210 on the Bridgestone demonstration tyres used for his guest drive.

"It was a dream come true and unbelievable to rediscover the speed of a Formula One car again today," said Patrese. "I was able to get accustomed pretty quickly and found that my driving style did not need to change too much to adapt to a modern car.

"The speed was a bit of a surprise on the first couple of laps but at the end I felt very comfortable, although I'm sure my neck will ache a little bit tonight after the G-forces.

"It's good to know that at my age, I can still drive quickly and push the limits. I just wish that I could have had more time in the car to improve my lap time. Hopefully they'll give me another chance sometime!"

Honda Racing's CEO Nick Fry said that he had been impressed with the Sky Sport Italia commentator's ability to adapt to the complexities of a modern F1 car.

"Riccardo adapted very well to the car today and there was plenty for him to get to grips with as F1 has advanced so rapidly since his final race in 1993 and continues to do so with the introduction of new environmental technologies," he said.

"Left-foot braking, grooved tyres and a steering-wheel mounted clutch paddle were all new for Riccardo today, and his fastest lap time was very respectable considering that he was using demonstration tyres and a 2007 car.

"The team thoroughly enjoyed working with Riccardo today and we are delighted to have made his dream of returning to Formula One for a day come true!"

Raikkonen seemed to be much slower than Hamilton when the track was wet during the Spa race, and the pair made contact a couple of times during their fight.

Their difference in speed nearly caused a crash between them, something that led Hamilton to say on Thursday that Raikkonen was driving too slowly.

"That is how he drives," he said. "If you don't have the balls to brake late then that is your problem! At the end of the day, in those situations it is the driver who can feel the grip more and put the car more on the edge. And I know I am great in those conditions.

"I felt the grip more than him, I knew where to place my car and I did place it in different positions to him and I found the grip."

Raikkonen, however, was unfazed by Hamilton's comments.

"I don't mind that. Like I said he has his own opinion on anything, but that is not what happened at the first corner. It is more about what happens when you cut a chicane and get an advantage or not.

"If you put the concrete wall there you could never come there in the first place, it is more about that than what happened at the first corner."

I totally agree, but he does show flashes of brilliance...he's honeslty been quite massa-like this season.

I honestly don't believe nick is better than alonso, I just like him a lot more.

"It is always easy to have a certain opinion when you are not involved," the McLaren driver added, "or when you are the one who is not winning."

I really just wish he'd shut his fucking mouth until he won a wdc.

Oh and this braking late comment is awfully similar to emonso's .6 seconds. We need to start making some memes.

His comments are fine with me, the less politically correct the better. I wish more drivers would talk as much shit as possible.

DC talks tons of shit and never won a WDC. Webber about the guys in the 80's being pussies compared to the guys in the 60s and 70s. Most of us find it entertaining. :p

If the only people who could talk shit are WDC winners, the only one talking would be Fredo. Kimi might try, but we'd never really know what he was really saying.

dc will talk shit about other drivers, i.e. I'm gonna rape massa in his hobbit ass, I don't think I've ever heard DC utter the words "I know I am great"
