i keep hearing that too, i dunno? BBC and Speed commentators each mention it once and just brush it off.

so williams withdraws a protest against RBR and ferrari based on how williams "recognises the possibility that in this area there could be more than one interpretation of the rules and therefore does not feel it appropriate to continue with the protests."
translation: "we're withdrawing the protest because our cars are gaining an advantage over interpretation of the rules and therefore does not feel it appropriate to call the kettle black."
basically they're asking anyone else that is behind both teams and isn't running the big diffuser to bring the issue back up.

The itty bitty rear wings look odd. I just can't get used to them.

I guess Vettel isnt all that light and could legitimately get on the podium
The kid is good, the RBR isnt bad, but apparently fragile (again)
The itty bitty rear wings look odd. I just can't get used to them.
Its not the rear wing that bugs me, but rather the width of the front wing that gets me.
what i'm thinking, is that these smaller teams better get a huge jump start in the beginning of the season, cause when ferrari, bmw, etc. have their rear diffuser developed, they are going to start chewing into that lead...
DOT. By mid season, the money teams will be winning races again... Ferrari for sure, they arent that bad off, perhaps BMW as well. It looks as if RBR could develop pretty well too... Like i have heard before, the biggest thing is a really solid base, so maybe the amount of money thrown at it may not help as much as we think. I will sure as hell enjoy finding out
God it feels really good to be this excited about F1!! The last seasons have been great, but this, wow, even better!

Brawn seems to be that transformed, skunk works team style. USF1 should take note, Brawn is giving a masterclass in how-to carry on as a new team.
Could that engine change note be some near seemless shift gearbox feature in action?

i dunno if that is fair to say considering they picked up on a year of Honda's work...

Well, I'm waiting for more "Toyota cheating" posts, even though certain other teams had flexi-wings not long ago.
you're only cheating if you get caught

In this case, you're only cheating if the stewards actually penalize you.you're only cheating if you get caught

Here’s how the race will unfold
March 28, 2009 by James Allen
The fuel weights have been published by the FIA for the first time, under the new rules for this season.
There are some very interesting things here. For a start the Brawn cars are, as we expected, massively quick, given that Jenson Button’s car has 22 laps worth of fuel in it (59 kilos). Barrichello will go one lap longer, to 23. This is a long first stint for a two stop strategy.
Knowing this we can say that Jenson did a stunning job today in the final part of qualifying as the extra fuel he’s carrying will have given him less than a tenth of a second of lap time compared to Rubens and yet he is three tenths faster.
Rubens liked the car more on low fuel in the early part of qualifying, Jenson liked it more in heavy fuel mode. He will be on his own tomorrow in the race.
Sebastien Vettel, who qualified third, will go to lap 20, the same as Nico Rosberg. This means that the Red Bull is a couple of tenths faster than the Williams.
Meanwhile the Ferraris are in trouble, Massa has only 18 laps of fuel in his car and yet he was 8/10ths off Button, who has 3/10ths of a weight disadvantage. That puts the Ferrari a second slower in quali trim today. Raikkonen has a similar amount as his team mate and was a tenth slower.
Kubica’s lap looks less stellar when you realise that he is running light - he will be stopping on lap 17.
Button should control the race, reliability is his only competitor tomorrow. Barrichello has more than enough speed to stay ahead of Vettel and Rosberg who will be fighting for a podium. Massa moves forward to 6th on the grid after Glock’s exclusion and he has a shot at a podium from there to get his championship campaign off to a strong start. The Ferrari should prove a faster race car than qualifier here.
UPDATES: I’ll be doing a Twitter feed during the race, with my take on what’s going on. Look out for it here on “JAonF1″

interesting!
how about no? fucking gay... i dont like it. takes away one of the best elements of the race since there is minimal passing. we find out tomorrow if THAT aspect is improved like its supposed to be.
what they should do all 3 sessions on low fuel (or do each car, 1 lap a piece like the pre 3 session days, makes for a good show, and you get to watch each drives full quali lap) and fast like proper quali, then fill them all full of fuel till the end. but maybe it'll turn out to rock out, who knows...
