Hey now, that's Indiana. 2500 calories is just called 'breakfast' over there. And make sure to mention the weight savings he was trying to get while he was stuffing in a 2500 calorie meal at 3AM in the morning

As someone whose in-laws are from Indiana, I support this statement. Tenderloins and fried biscuits!

I like it.Sooooo...Montreal is selling a ticket package where you get to sit in a different grandstand over each of the 3 days. Pretty nifty idea IMHO
But I like the free run of the place grated for all but race day at Indy better.

I don't put Pirellis on my, or my customers', cars because they typically suck, not because of their F1 wear rates.seriously not sure how people tie the two together... "those tires on the F1 car only lasted 60 miles... must be a shit tire company... i'd never put their tires on my car"...

MotoGP introduces Points penalties...
Up to 10 penalty points can be imposed, with sanctions applied at certain thresholds. Any rider reaching four penalty points starts the next race from the back of the grid, while seven points lead to a pitlane start and 10 points a race ban.
Honestly, I like this a whole lot more then what they have now with random '20 sec penalties' and 'pit lane drive through' And i'd also change the formula up to be that for the first 4 points you get dropped back a grid position for each of those points. So the first point gets you a 1-place penalty at the next start of the race. Up to 5 points = 5 grid spots dropped before a back of the grid penalty.

"Fernando Alonso's approach 'too political' - Helmut Marko"

"Mark Webber 'struggles with title pressure' reckons Helmut Marko"
As for the first point, Marko's an idiot. For the second point, he's probably right...but I wouldn't be publically airing this out at all. Numbnuts x 2.
Does anybody actually take what Marko says seriously? The guy is basically just there to make sure RBR maintains the marketing image of Red Bull.
Don't think so, but he's always good for a ridiculous/controversial quote. The prince philip of f1.

Normally, when goods are imported into a country, that country's custom authorities levy some form of import duty, a tax on imports. However, in the case of goods which are only in the country temporarily before being exported again, as in the case of racing motorcycles to be used at a round of World Superbikes, the import duty is either waived entirely, or a temporary import duty is paid, to be returned (minus a handling fee, of course) once proof has been shown that the imported goods have left the country again. The problem here is that the sums involved are large: import duty on a street-legal superbike is 105% of its new value, though what value would be used to calculate the duty on a race-ready WSBK machine remains to be seen. Similar amounts are due on all spare parts, tools and other equipment, meaning the sum required for each team in temporary import duty could easily run into the high tens or low hundreds of thousands of euros....
....dealing with India is not easy even for F1; the Indian Sports Ministry could have waived import duty requirements for F1 by designating the race an event of national importance. They did not, leaving the F1 organization to deal with a mountain of paperwork for the event. The situation was so complex that some teams, such as Ferrari, decided against flying in development parts for the Indian race.

Interesting tidbit about races held in India... I'm wondering how much F1 teams paid to get their cars in and out, and how customs determined the value...
Bringing cars/personnel in and out of a country is the job of the FOM, so I'm sure that's factored into the price of holding an event at a country. But would make sense why Ferrari wouldn't be bringing development parts to India.

Doesn't he lead the Young Drivers Search program for Red Bull? I doubt an old and cranky man maintains the marketing image of RB.

Do you guys think Massa's injury was really from the spring? How'd that happen? I never understood how the spring broke so much of his head if it skipped off the helmet. This theory (that he hit the steering wheel and that the HANS failed) kind of lends evidence to that.
In frame 5 we see the crucial moment. As the car hits the tyre barrier Massa's head is thrown forward and strikes the steering wheel.
That is precisely what should not have happened, and I suspect that is the moment serious injuries were sustained.
Here I quote from Wikipedia: The purpose of the device is to stop the head from "whipping forward" in a crash, without otherwise restricting movement of the neck.
So why didn't it work for Felipe?
