I do see Marko's point that Vettel has definitely had the worse mechanical luck, but hasn't gone around moaning about/insulting the team over it.
That being said, I think it's time for everyone to STFU and for the RBR drivers to stop taking each other out of races.

 and :werd:

if RBR doesn't wrap up both titles, it's their own fault, their car is leagues ahead of the other teams and the drivers are both race winners...

Bruno Senna and Sakon Yamamoto will be HRT’s drivers in the German Grand Prix next week.

Senna will return to the car having been absent during the British Grand Prix.

A statement from the team said Karun Chandhok will return to the cockpit “at some later races this season”.

HRT said:

After Sakon Yamamoto gave a very positive performance in Silverstone, the team has decided to give the Japanese driver another opportunity to drive the car alongside Bruno Senna. Karun Chandhok is still part of the Hispania Racing, HRT F1 Team family and is likely to be in the car at some later races this season.

Yamamoto will switch to car number 20 having driven number 21 at Silverstone. He expects to perform better in his second race outing for the team this year:

I have a lot of good memories of the circuit in Hockenheim. I like the track layout with the passing point at the end of the long straight and also the Stadium sector, which is very challenging. There is always a nice atmosphere with the spectators at the grandstands and I am always looking forward to come back to Hockenheim.

Compared to Silverstone, I think we are more competitive and we can achieve a good result again. The last race weekend was very exciting for me. Now, the team has given me another chance to race on Sunday and I will do my best to prove that it was the right decision.
Sakon Yamamoto

seriously? now they're messing with the Indian Cowboy?

It's at time like this you realize how good of a director Ross Brawn is. Rubens got his wins in last year, bitched about not being the #1, but the team still made it through.

Of course, Jens and Rubens weren't getting into games of chicken every sunday either.

$5 mil.

Although Hispania insist they just wanted to give Sakon Yamamoto the "opportunity" to race, it appears there may be more behind Bruno Senna's British GP axing.

On the eve of last weekend's British Grand Prix, Hispania confirmed that Senna would sit out the race in favour of test driver Yamamoto being given the "opportunity" to show what he's made of.

The team's decision sparked rumours that it was for financial reasons that Senna, the nephew of the late Ayrton Senna, was sidelined, although these were quickly denied by Hispania.

However, it now appears that may be the truth - or at least partly.

According to reports in the German media, there were financial implications to Yamamoto racing. However, it was to do with Karun Chandhok, whose sponsors were late in their payments.

But they eventually came through late Thursday, meaning the team could not drop him. And that was a problem for Hispania as Yamamoto had raised a reported $5million for his chance to compete.

Senna, though, then handed the team the perfect reason to sideline him - he sent an email criticising team boss Colin Kolles's management style to, yes, team boss Colin Kolles.

And as a result, Senna was "rested" and Hispania got a much-needed cash injection from Yamamoto's drive.

Oops!

I honestly only see McLaren as being the challenger this year. Ferrari and Mercedes are close, but never seem a real threat.

And unless McLaren pick up the dev on their car, they're going to start being left behind.

Ferrari and Mercedes are too far behind already. At best they'll win a couple of races between now and the end of the season.

Ferrari for a constructors is out, Alonso still has a title shot as long as Ferrari doesn't keep making these stupid call...
Merc is done, they got nothing, Nico isn't fast enough, Shumi is even slower and the car isn't a real compeitor to RBR, McLaren, Ferrari

RBR could easily seal the deal if they can keep peace in the team and stop taking each other out, other wise you're right, McLaren can constantly be in the hunt to pick up points that RBR keeps dropping...

Macca as a team is functioning just like Jenson drives...slow, steady, opportunistic, and relatively mistake free.

Worst case scenario (for RBR) is that Ferrari and Mercedes play McLaren 09 and steal valuable points from the team they're chasing (then Brawn, now McLaren).

Actually, just like what happened last year.

Bernie Ecclestone's desire to take Formula One to Moscow has led to the unlikely suggestion that Monaco could be sacrificed to continue the sport's global expansion.

While inconceivable that the jewel in F1's crown could drop off the schedule after an unbroken run dating back to 1955, Ecclestone has suggested that, along with some other European venues, the Principality would need to raise its game financially to be able to compete with the countries eager to join the fray. Monaco is rumoured not to pay an annual fee to host its race, while other venues are struggling to raise the money to meet Ecclestone's demands.

"The Europeans are going to have to pay more money or we will have to go somewhere else," he told Britain's Independent newspaper, "We can do without Monaco [if] they don't pay enough."

Having expressed an interest in expanding the F1 schedule to 20 races, Ecclestone has been inundated with candidates, and India and the United States look set to continue the additions over the next couple of seasons. However, with a cap expected to be set at 20 races, expansion will not be unlimited, creating a squeeze somewhere. Although the British GP is now thought to be safe following the 17-year deal that has convinced Silverstone to begin work on revamping its facility, other European races, notably Turkey, Germany, Hungary and Valencia's European GP, are rumoured to be in danger of joining France on the sidelines if they do not measure up.

Despite the number of potential hosts queuing up to join the F1 calendar, Ecclestone appears keen to add Russia to the fold, although suggestions that capital Moscow may be the preferred venue after last week's third annual City Racing festival may be wide of the mark. He revealed earlier this year that as many as three venues were under consideration, but that one was now emerging as favourite.

Reigning world champion Jenson Button raved about Moscow after demonstrating a McLaren on streets around the Kremlin, and event organisers made a play for Moscow to be given a grand prix, but Ecclestone remained on course to take F1 elsewhere in the country.

"This is not a day of work, it's a day of enjoyment," Button told Reuters reporters after one of his runs, "I've always wanted to visit Moscow, [although] I haven't seen much of the city as we only arrived two days ago. However, it would be a good idea [to have a grand prix here], as I definitely want to come back."

Derk Sauer, general director of Bavaria Moscow City Racing, revealed that 'we're aiming to have the race here as early as 2012 - the contract is not done yet, but we're getting very close', but his claims appear to contradict Ecclestone's plans to take F1 to the country's next Olympic city.

"[Russia] has got to go on the calendar," he told the Independent, "We will do it the year after next - in Sochi."

Honestly, there's a huge list of races that can be done away with that no one would be mad about.

Barcelona, Valencia, Bahrain, Hungary, Singapore....

Alonso's Brilliance Has A Flaw
Describing Alonso as a deserved victor in Germany is to drift into dangerous territory, but he was indisputably the outstanding performer of the weekend. He qualified half a second ahead of his team-mate and was clearly the faster of the two Ferraris in the race. But for Vettel's chop off the line, Massa's defeat would almost certainly have been emphatic.

The limit to the adulation, however, is reached with the reminder of Alonso's petulance and his reaction to adversity. "This is ridiculous," he shrieked on the car-to-pit radio after his first - and only - attempt to pass Massa at full speed was rebuffed. It was a low moment, revealing, once again, the petulance that makes Alonso so difficult to admire. Whereas others, such as Mark Webber, would respond with renewed determination, Alonso's typical response to adversity consists of toy-throwing. It cost him points in Valencia and this weekend's real ridiculousness was his failure to change his ways.
