because when he was in the right car he was fast as fuck...
I don't care if he's outside doing sponsorship stuff for jello and koolaid, that's not my business how he makes money, doing 100 sponsor days or doing 1, doesn't concern me, as long as he was fast on the track and kept he's cool, I'd support the guy... what athletes do off the track, i could give 2 shits about... that's not why I cheer for them
and about the payment to sit out... he's still basically in the top paid 3-5 drivers in F1, and he's not even racing... so obviously he's still worth something...
I didn't want to have to type up a reply so this will do just nicely...

MS is as crazy as Button is...He has twice lost to Alonso, and the field is only tougher. This is going to be fun - we could see a 3-4 way battle for the title. Bring on the season!

Love it or hate it, and I HATE the man, but I think Max Mosely is an indirect cause to helping the sport regain traction...
Please don't lynch me

Team Britain vs. Team Germany vs. Team America

Well it's official, I'm rooting for Team Britain
I'm conflicted...
I want Ferrari as a team to win, but I want Vettel to win as a driver... at the same time I want to see what Alonso can do in a red car...
and Senna will be my under dog...
I'm so confused
just a couple things I was thinking of this morning...
Shumi is Massa's mentor... but since they're on competing teams... does that end that relationship?
Will Shumi now take Nico under his wing if Nico wants it?

The sponsor days are part of being on a top flight team. To say no to 12 days seems quite childish to me when you're pulling in 8 figures.

Being paid that much to get out says alot about how much someone wants him gone, not about how good he is.

Not really...part of that stipulation was that he NOT drive for another team. That says volume as to how much respect Ferrari has for him still IMO.

I don't see a reason for Schuey's relationship with Felipe Baby to end - just because you are in different teams doesn't mean you can't get along. It's not like they'll be competing against each other
Also, I think Nico would hate Schuey as much as his father does - which is alot.

Disgraced former Renault F1 pilot Nelson Piquet Jr appears to have earned a reprieve following claims that he will form half of an all-Brazilian line-up at Formula One newcomer Campos Meta.
According to Spanish website motor21.com, the 24-year old has inked a three-year deal with the former GP2 Series team that will see him partner former sparring partner Bruno Senna in the top flight - but only after his father, three-time F1 world champion Nelson Sr, took a 15 per cent stake in Adrian Campos nascent operation. That deal, plus the support of several Brazilian companies keen to capitalise on the team's line-up, proved to be the key in seeing off rival bids from former Campos GP2 regular Vitaly Petrov and erratic Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado.
Few expected Piquet Jr to return to F1 quite so soon after his role in the now infamous Singapore GP accident that not only afforded then Renault team-mate Fernando Alonso victory in the sport's first night race, but ultimately led to the exit of both Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds, who each received lengthy bans from F1. Piquet, meanwhile, provided the evidence that turned the case, earning himself a pardon from the FIA, but a question mark from any team previously willing to have considered employing him.
His-year-and-a-half at Enstone, however, is also understood to have given him a leg-up at Campos, allowing him to bring some F1 experience as well as family money, and putting him ahead of the likes of the vastly more seasoned Pedro de la Rosa, who had been seen as a shoo-in for the second seat based on his nationality. de la Rosa is not expected to settle for another year of reserve duties - having filled the role at McLaren since 2003 - but Campos is likely to find a Spanish talent to help assuage national support.
