A couple of things here. First, Felipe didn't end up with a basilar skull fracture, so the hans device didn't technically fail. Second is motivation - AFAIK, f1 and ferrari have 0 financial investment in HANS. They have no motivation to cover up or to defend the device if it isn't working as advertised. In fact, from f1's perspective, the hans would make a good scapegoat - "Yeah, a spring shouldn't fall off a car that has passed FIA inspection, BUT, it was the faulty hans device that resulted in the severe brain trauma in felipe."
I think he did have a base fracture of the skull though...according to the article...
"The military hospital in Budapest where he was first treated revealed that he had suffered a brain contusion, fractures to his forehead and the base of his skull, and that bone fragments had been removed from around his left eye. Bruising and lacerations around his left eye were evident when he was lifted from the car, and he is to have a titanium plate fitted to cover a gap in his skull."
Doesn't that mean that the HANS either failed or was improperly fitted?

[tin foil hat on] - I wonder if they're getting ready for a 3 cars/team grid in 2014

They said they weren't going to, as it added weight. Is that the new livery on the old chassis? They don't seem to have used the "vanity plate" over the hunch/step nose.

Ferrari have already hinted at using it.I think some of those images were cg. some of the pictures had the passive drs, and others did not. Same with the nose cone.

Awesome!http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=t3CkOlf-aMo#!
Really shows how important it is to be in the right car at the right time.
Unfortunately I fear Kubica's career is over

Pretty significant changes.
F138 and the Force India cars were launched today too.
Both look pretty good. I'm just glad we're not getting shocked like last season with the stepped nose, lol
