I don't buy into that fastest driver on earth hype. Even Schumi picked Fred to be his successor back in 02. And why isn't Massa faster than Kimi on raw pace? He's had more poles during their time together.
Raw pace vs complete package are two totally different things. Kimi is def. not the perfect driver for every team. He hates sponsors, hates interviewing, and he loves partying. But if it weren't for the fragility of the McLarens, he would've been a WDC with McLaren for sure. For awhile there, he was the only one challenging the Ferrari/Schumacher package until Alonso matured in the Renault.
