i wonder if the rumors of his car being sabotaged by his own team were true or not.Reminds me of andretti in 93, refusing to locate to europe
The reality of it was, they had Mika Hakkinen ready to come in for a lot less than what my dad was getting paid, and that’s all it was. Right then and there, they had to make him look (bad).
...
They would make the car do weird things in the corner electronically, stuff out of his control,
...
And I think my dad’s biggest supporter over there was Ayrton Senna, because he was one of the few who knew what was really happening in the team, and I think he believed in my father. It was Monza that he really said, ’Give him my car. Give him exactly what I had.’

Honestly, I think that's a crock of shit.i wonder if the rumors of his car being sabotaged by his own team were true or not.

if this were true then maybe it also might be true emo was getting the shaft at macca
i guess in the end of the day it paid off for macca tho. mika cost a lot less and gave them 2 WDCs, whereas michael may have only been a damn good but expensive 2nd driver like quick nick

Honestly, I think that's a crock of shit.
The simple fact that Andretti refused to move to Europe to be closer to the team shows a lack of dedication and drive to succeed in F1.

we'll never know.. it was michael's only podium in his 13 race f1 career though.Dawt.
Did Senna say that at Monza tho?

Timo Glock topped the times on a fog-hit first day of testing at Sakhir in Bahrain on Monday, with little to separate the runners on the timesheets.
Although the three teams present - Ferrari, BMW Sauber and Toyota – had all given up on running in Europe because they wanted to be sure of good weather, the first two hours of the session had to be abandoned because of fog.
Once the medical helicopter was in place, however, the teams were able to complete a great deal of running – which came as welcome relief to the outfits who have been hit by poor weather conditions up to now.
Glock was fastest of the three cars present, and was happy with what the team had found on the first day spent focusing on set-up work.
"After the weather intervened during our Portugal test, this was our first real chance to give the TF109 a run in dry conditions," he explained. "The fog held us up briefly at the start but it wasn't a major problem. We did a lot of set-up work and in the end we found a good direction.
"The car felt quite consistent so this is already a positive sign. We got through a lot of laps so this was an encouraging start to the test."
Felipe Massa was second fastest for Ferrari, just more than one tenth of a second adrift of Glock's best. The Brazilian spent the morning evaluating set-up work to get his F60 dialled into the Sakhir circuit, before switching to long run efforts in the afternoon.
Robert Kubica was the only other driver present, as he set the third best time after a day also spent working on set-up. His afternoon was interrupted by a mechanical problems but he was satisfied with the progress they put in.
"It was the first time I was able to drive the new car in warm weather," said the Pole. "We learned a lot about the car's behaviour in these conditions, so overall it was a good day."
Today's times:
Pos Driver Team Time Laps
1. Glock Toyota (B) 1:33.501 82
2. Massa Ferrari (B) 1:33.615 98
3. Kubica BMW-Sauber (B) 1:33.702 95

After a short hiatus, testing resumed today at the Jerez. While BMW Sauber, Ferrari and Toyota tested in Bahrain, the remaining teams minus Force India Mercedes, were back in action at the Spanish test venue.
Sebastien Buemi set the pace as expected in the 2008 specification Toro Rosso Ferrari but his times are effectively meaningless in comparison with the other drivers running the newer low downforce 2009 challengers.
There was however a rain shower mid-way through the day, but for much of the session, the 4.428km remained dry. The new Toro Rosso Ferrari driver led the way with a best time of 1:19.660s and put in 104 laps.
Red Bull Renault, who unveiled its new RB5 package at the circuit yesterday and proceeded to test in private, were back in action again today with Sebastian Vettel once again behind the wheel.
Vettel completed 61 laps, his fastest time of 1:22.177s coming on his 49th lap of the day but was forced to halt the new 2009 challenger late in the session with a mechanical problem.
Williams Toyota test driver Nico Hulkenberg was on duty today for the grove-based team, moving third fastest late in the session. Hulkenberg was just over two-tenths slower than Vettel.
Heikki Kovalainen put another 60 laps on the new McLaren Mercedes challenger and was fourth fastest ahead of Renault's Nelson Piquet who only completed 35 laps in the new R29.
Testing continues on Wednesday.
