Honestly, if not for the spring incident, I think Massa would have been out before now, ESPECIALLY with his performance of late.

The spring may have accelerate his decline/further taken his mind out of the game, but yeah, I'd agree with this. Certainly the same performance last year and no spring = no drive for massa.

I dunno, it seems like post spring Massa is just a different driver.Honestly, if not for the spring incident, I think Massa would have been out before now, ESPECIALLY with his performance of late.

Exactly. Pre-spring he challenged Ham-bone for the title, and was very competitive with (an admittedly disinterested) Kimi.
Post-spring, he's been shite.

i only just saw this race now. man, lewis seemed devastated. he should have had 2nd, but still, he was really out of it. i'm happy to hear him say he needs consistency though. that's how button beat him in points last year.
