Fernando Alonso's reported desire to switch to Ferrari next year has been dealt a harsh blow by the famous Italian team's President.

Luca di Montezemolo is quoted by the sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport as questioning whether appointing the Spaniard would be "desirable" for Ferrari in terms of maintaining harmony in the scarlet-clad garages.

"To line up a (Kimi) Raikkonen-Alonso double act would mean wanting to damage yourself," he said.

"I want two equal drivers that work together," Montezemolo added.

He's going to sing a different tune once KR retires. I honestly can't see him in F1 beyond 2010...

I don't know who I'll cheer for once Kimi's retired. Hopefully another slurring mumbling shady drunk makes his way into F1 :mamoru: Everyone else is way too cleancut...

I love how Renault is struggling to get ahead of the middle runners, yet last year they agreed early in the season that their car was garbage and they would stop work on it and work on this year's car. :mamoru:

Completely lost their way methinks.

!!!!

The entire Super Aguri team, including all the transporters and the race cars, has been dispatched to the Barcelona circuit, it has emerged.

Despite continuing uncertainty about the financial survival of the Japanese outfit, including the question of whether the team will even race this weekend, frantic activity is still going on behind the scenes - including the preparation of the team's facilities and pits at the Circuit de Catalunya.

The German magazine Auto Motor und Sport claims that, after the recent withdrawal of the Magma Group's planned Dubai backing, talks with the Leafield operation have been on again.

The outcome is not yet known, but it is clear that Honda - Super Aguri's main hope of staying afloat at least in the coming days - wants written guarantees from an investor before the team is given the green light to even practice in Spain.

The Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell reported that the Super Aguri sale was complicated by the emergence on the market of Dietrich Mateschitz's 50 percent Toro Rosso share.

It also emerges that the team's Managing Director Daniele Audetto is back in the frame at Super Aguri, despite his absence from the races so far this year.

Great news!

This will just increase the teams popularity. Everyone supports the underdog.

toyota? sounds like he's ready for the ralf schumacher route.

Alonso is a much better driver than Half Schumacher.

Alonso wants race wins, not a pension slip.

I'm liking Heikki alot, he's Finnish, he's with the right team... It just all makes sense, When Mika retired, (which crushed me) Kimi was there to take his place, maybe Heikki can do that for Kimi.

We'll just hafta see...

I think heikki is gonna be awesome to watch in the coming years. He's not a mumble, he's charismatic and he's a pretty damn good driver too. It's just a pity he drives for McLaren, but then again Mika did too and I thought he was an outstanding champion. I guess in the end I can forgive both Mika and Heikki for their shortsightedness... :dunno:

Well, I've always been a McLaren fan, so it just makes it that much easier. Last year, I just couldn't bring myself to pull for them after they signed Alonso, now if they had signed him back in 04/05 when I actually liked him, it might have been different...

Seems to me he's just going to push kimi to retire in after '09....just like he did with Baron VonSchumi, then sign a letter of intent with emo for '10....he'll be happy to whine and stagnate for another year for a red car and a real chance to kick the crap out of louise every sunday.

He won't push Kimi out in '10. He's too good to be pushed out...It's more or less of whether Kimi stays in or not. I just don't see him being motivated long enough to do it for that long. Once he's gone tho, FA will be on his target list ASAP.
