Which also coincided with tracks that were also cooler which allowed RB's cars to get into the window as well. And then at Nurburgring they were struggling again with the hotter temps.

We'll never know how much information MB got, but I do think that the teams over-played the shit storm...
Of course...the f-duct didn't do that much, the mass damper wasn't the secret to renault's success. This is the motorspot equivalent of flopping and holding your ankle after a hard tackle...but that doesn't mean there wasn't a foul

Looks like the wheels are coming off the Ferrari and it's not a pitstop.

Rightfully so...his chance of titles are slipping away each year and every time, Ferrari depends on Alonso to drag that car into position. Give him a good car capable of fighting the Red Bulls already...

And India has been dropped from this years calendar according to Autosport...
Easily the worst track ever... I remember nothing from the last races there...

I can only find reference to 2014, this year still seems to be on.

Wonder what this means for FI.

I thought it was dropped from 2014, because they have a late race this year and Bernie wanted to move them to a early race for 14.

So basically they will skip 14 and pick up the contract in 15. They couldn't do two gp's in 6 months

I think somebody at Ferrari realized the error of their ways

"Di Montezemolo is the first to support our driver's call to improve the car's competitiveness as quickly as possible," said the spokesman.

"He fully understands Fernando's frustrations after what has been the most challenging race of the year. He is his chief supporter and has full trust in him.

"His words must be viewed as a positive injection. They were a boost in motivation to inspire the team and to be united toward our common objective."

The season wasn't very silly up until last week and now the dial is at 11.

Kimi knows what he'll get at Ferrari, and being Kimi I'm sure he'll turn it down in favor of a team that lets him have minimal sponsor appearances. The only thing in that Ferrari deal better than his current gig would be that he gets his paychecks on time :mamoru:

I think it'll sound better out in the open. Why did the 80s V6 Turbos sound so much better? These sound so wheezy by comparison...

Sound = wasted energy. Maybe they have more efficient turbos now to reduce the wasted energy. That being said, it definitely is a big step down from the V8 sound. We'll get used to it just like we got to ridiculously high and narrow rear wings which all seem normal by now.

I think Ulrich said the same thing while developing the diesels for the Audi LMP1 cars...

Eh. I don't believe that statement fully. Yes I do believe that sound is "wasted" energy but how much could/would you gain?

Audi and Peugeot didn't make their diesels quiet b/c they planned on it. If their diesel was loud, Ulrich would've been telling us how the noise = power a'la F1. It just so happens that the diesel powerplant is quiet by nature...let's put it this way, try making a gasoline motor quiet and you'll have a car that is slow...Plus, turbofans are some of the most efficient machines that convert dinosaur bones into thrust...and those things are loud ass mofos.

Anyone else see this ad Jenson had to do for Santander that Will Buxton mentioned via tweets?

I think I also am lost on if this is supposed to be funny or serious

I've yet to hear a "quiet" diesel in any application...
