Mercedes motorsport boss Norbert Haug concedes that rivals Ferrari are the favourites to win next weekend's Turkish GP.
Although McLaren won the curtain raiser in Australia, it's Ferrari who have dominated ever since with the Italian stable claiming three victories on the trot, which included back-to-back 1-2s.
Ferrari also have the better record in Istanbul with Felipe Massa having won the last two events. And even when McLaren did win the race it was with Kimi Raikkonen who now races for Ferrari.
Based on those facts even Haug concedes that Ferrari have the upper hand heading to Turkey. "We didn't really shine here in the past, and also this time we are not the current benchmark," he said.
"The team wants to score as many points as possible, but after three consecutive wins Ferrari obviously arrive here as the favourites."
Lewis Hamilton, however, is refusing to write off his chances. The 23-year-old reckons he has the car needed to win but that it could all depend on how well he does in qualifying.
"Qualifying was surprisingly close in Spain, both at the front of the grid and in the midfield. While there are clear chances to overtake at the Istanbul Speed Park, it is going to be vital to qualify well," he said.
"The balance of the car felt good in Spain, and this is really key at Turkey because of the high speed corners. You need to have a stable balance to be quick through them, such as Turn Three.
You also need a very stable car through Turn Eight, to ensure you conserve your Bridgestone Potenzas and that you are able to carry speed through there. This section of the track is key as you can gain a lot of time."

I'm just REALLY upset at fry.
Join the masses. There are literally millions of people in the world right now that hate Fry.
The new speculation is that with one day left before the board makes their decision, people are speculating that maybe the board is setting up Fry to be their fall guy/scape goat.
If that is the case, it would make sense why they kept him around after hiring Brawn because Fry obviously does less work at Honda than Chimp Chimp did for Speed Racer.
But you are right in saying that Fry is pretty much the commercial face for Honda while Brawn is the guy actually doing the work. Another wild speculation is that Brawn insisted on not funding Super Aguri anymore because they are draining on Honda's money and that he wants all the money possible to make Honda good again and from his Ferrari days, he knows not to be the fall guy.
Too many speculations around the 'water cooler' right now, but all should be revealed this week.
There's already a few guys around here that are saying their goodbyes to Super Aguri, but most of us still have faith (racing spirit)!

I believe the expression of one SPEED nascar commentator was "The 3 'W's of Nascar = wrecking, (w)racing, and winning"
That is when I knew even the commentators weren't that smart.

You seem more in-tuned to F1 than the most of us, like 1 or 2 steps ahead of the rest of us who watch the F1-sites for news. Are you an insider stealin' Ferrari secrets?

BUT Should I end up stealing Ferrari secrets, they would go to Super Aguri should they still be around. But for the proposed future of F1, aero secrets will no longer be "that" useful, as I believe most of it will be engine work and inner workings of the car all hidden behind carbon fibre. Takes away the visual ecstacy, but hopefully the racing will be better.

http://www.itv-f1.co...e.aspx?id=42509I firmly believe that we are within 1% of the leading team now, which is a big improvement from where we were at the beginning of the season.

I rather not say anything about that.

The visual joy for me is a car cornering so hard, Newton rolls over in his grave and begs for mercy all the while battling it out mid-corner with another car. When we get good racing back with fast cars, life will be alright.
But you seem to def. have some connections. You caught the Ferrari rear wings, and the difference in steering wheels as well as calling out Fry before anyone else saw anything in the news...I'm sure there are a few upper teams that didn't even see the difference between the two wings on the Red cars

I definately do not have the connections to get free tshirts of any kind for everyone except probably plain white Tees (with my own pocket change).
And I'm pretty sure most teams will have caught the difference in rear wings by now. Every team usually employs at least one person whose sole purpose is to scope out and "hang around" their competitors' cars as much as possible (within the rules).
and yes I do speak in cryptic sometimes in real life. It is like a verbal CYA file.
