no one remembers how much Jenson sucked for the past ever till he got a Brawn car for the first 7 races, then everyone thought he was the second coming of Jesus till the rest of the teams got up to speed, then he went back to his roots and is now a mid packer again...
i went there

How about 3/3 of epic racing - stuff that you'll remember in 20 years time. Not "Oh Alonso is going to here and Fisichella is going to here". I hate this disposable shit the media beats up and only adds to my disdain for the profession.
No-one remembers Kovafailin handing Fisichella his ass almost every race at Renault now its like Fisichella is the 2nd coming of Hamilton. Good racing is enough to tie me over til the next season, I don't much like reading James Allen blogs.

Dorna staff confirmed that they were working on HD broadcasts for 2010 for MotoGP, though nothing had yet been finalized.

I would
for Kimi to go back to McLaren, especially if he can get decent equipment!!!!!!!
Renault is understood to have held discussions with 2007 F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen regarding a potential switch to the French outfit next year – in a move that could at the same time earn the Régie a title sponsorship deal with mobile 'phone company Nokia.
Rumours circulating in France suggest that Raikkonen – who looks set to be out of a drive at Ferrari in 2010 in favour of current Renault incumbent Fernando Alonso, should the Scuderia manage to successfully negotiate the Finn's €25 million pay-off for terminating his existing contract a year early – could do what would be effectively a straight swap with his fellow former title-winner.
However, it is believed that the 29-year-old has already refused an offer of a €45 million, multi-year agreement – but it is also claimed that Nokia might join the Enstone-based operation regardless. Renault is seeking a new chief backer after Dutch banking organisation ING announced earlier this year that it will not be renewing its deal with the team.
Nokia – which is also Finnish – last appeared in the top flight when it sponsored Tyrrell back in 1995, with a home-grown driver on-board in the shape of Raikkonen's countryman Mika Salo.
There remain whispers inside the F1 paddock that Alonso could be announced as a Ferrari driver in 2010 during the weekend of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in just over a week's time.

By Jonathan Noble Thursday, September 3rd 2009, 13:50 GMT
Giancarlo Fisichella will be the second Ferrari driver from the Italian Grand Prix after he was released from his contract by his Force India team on Thursday.
Following days of speculation about who would line up alongside Kimi Raikkonen now that Felipe Massa is out for the season, Force India confirmed that Fisichella would switch teams from the Italian Grand Prix.
The team said that discussions with Ferrari began in the last 24 hours, once it became clear that Massa was out for the season. Force India owner Dr Vijay Mallya said: "Giancarlo and his management team approached me yesterday with the proposal from Ferrari.
"For any Italian driver, a Ferrari race seat is a long-held dream and for Giancarlo it was no exception. No one should stand in the way of this. Furthermore the agreement will secure Giancarlo's long-term future with Ferrari and it would be incorrect to jeopardise this, particularly when Giancarlo has made such a vital contribution to Force India."
Force India is understood to have outstanding debts with Ferrari left over from its customer engine supply deal that ended last year - but Mallya said that commercial factors did not have a role in the outcome.
"We would like to stress that we have not agreed any financial settlement with Ferrari," he said. "This agreement has been made in good faith and for the good of Giancarlo and the sport in general. A competitive Italian driver in a Ferrari for Monza is a positive story for Formula 1, which can only help raise the sport's profile in these difficult times.
"We would like to thank Giancarlo for all his help over the past one and a half seasons and for delivering us our first World Championship points last weekend. He has been an integral part of the team and we owe him a great deal for his input behind the scenes and performance out on track. We wish him all the best for the future.
"For Force India, this sport is a team effort and removing one part, even a major one, will not significantly affect our performance. The competitiveness of the team seen in Belgium was a result of hard work in the factory and wind tunnel and we have further developments coming for the final races, so we are confident this momentum can be sustained. We are now looking forward to a strong finish to the season."
Force India has not made a decision who will drive alongside Adrian Sutil for the rest of the season, although it is expected that Vitantonio Liuzzi will step up from his test drive role.

Goodbye Badoer, hello Fisi. Of course Massa out for the rest of season is
Alsoto Vijay Mallaya for releasing Fisi no strings attached. You'd never see the Flav doing something in the best interest of a driver over himself in a million years.

Force India pace a spur for McLaren
By Jonathan Noble Thursday, September 3rd 2009, 10:24 GMT
McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh says Force India's stunning performance in the Belgian Grand Prix has delivered his outfit a 'kick up the pants' that it needs to do a better job.
Giancarlo Fisichella caused a major upset at Spa-Francorchamps when he claimed Force India's maiden pole position, before finishing a strong second place behind Kimi Raikkonen.
With McLaren having struggled for pace throughout the Belgian weekend, Whitmarsh believes that the comparison between the teams shows how his outfit should have done better - especially because Force India is a technical partner.
"They were quick all the way through Spa, they caught us out and they have given us a kick up the pants," said Whitmarsh. "We don't necessarily enjoy being kicked up the pants, but it is good for the sport.
"The efforts and the sporting success is great, it is overdue and I am sure it is the sort of thing that will encourage Vijay [Mallya, team owner] and the sponsors of that team and the supporters of that team to believe that it is possible.
"They may slip back at the next race, but there is the hope and expectation that they can do this – and that it is a motivational thing. For the media, for the fans who are reading this story – it is fantastic. It is great.
"They have given us a kick up the pants, and we have got to look at what we do and make sure we are ahead of them in the future."
Whitmarsh believes that Force India's pace in Belgium owned much to the level of downforce that the team ran with – with the VJM02's low-drag characteristics having paid dividends in the fast first and second sectors of the Spa lap.
"They have a good engine – the same one as us – and they have a good gearbox which is the same as us," explained Whitmarsh. "But they have been working hard on the car.
"They ran a lower level of downforce than we did, and inevitably you wonder if we could have pushed hard and run at a lower level.
"But they have put a huge amount of effort in to get where they are. They work almost as hard as we do, I am sure, and they deserve it. I personally think it is great."

Fisi has hinted that he's getting towards the end of his racing career. I'm guessing he wants to go out on a high note.Who the heck would go from a race seat to a test seat? Who would do it while there's an in-season ban on testing?
I guess the Ferrari name is a bigger lure than I thought...

I'm sure there are quite a few drivers that wouldn't mind being on Ferrari payroll in retirement from racing, plus having the link to Ferrari might help him out with his racing school.

It's like driving for Ferrari is in every Italian's bucket listI've always liked Fisi, but he never quite delievered on the raw talent he showed at Jordan. Well that was until this last FI drive to 2nd.
I guess you're right, being on Ferrari's payroll in semi-retirement isn't bad.

Props to Fisi for having a dream and doing everything he can to pursue it. This may not be a career or financial based decision, just a "I have to drive for Ferrari" decision.Who the heck would go from a race seat to a test seat? Who would do it while there's an in-season ban on testing?
I guess the Ferrari name is a bigger lure than I thought...

if I was starting my a career I wouldn't do what Fisi did, but he's been racing since forever and has said he wants to end soon...
if I could finish up my long career in F1 at Ferrari even for just a handful of races, then stay on as a test driver... I would be all "more than you can afford pal... Ferrari"
