Being a great rookie still doesn't make you the 2nd coming of christ.Pretty sure he's won a nice share of his GPs, and placed higher than any rookie has, ever, AND beat his 2 time WDC teammate. But i guess that doesn't count, somehow. A bunch of F1 drivers have done that in their entire careers, let alone their first season, right?
Again, TONS of people rode kimi's balls before he won a WDC, and you seldom saw anyone bitch that he 'hadn't won shit' and didn't deserve praise/fans.
If the Fins or the Germans, or hell, anyone, had a new, rookie driver hit with such an impact on the sport straight away, you're out of your mind if you don't think that their country, and F1 in general, wouldn't have made them an instant celebrity. Especially with F1 desperate for that personality to step up and fill MS' old 'Face of F1' role.
And yeah, any other countries media would sackride their star...but the british do it to a whole new level. Their media outlets are the most watched in the world, and like it or not, f1 is really a british sport...they ride hammy's sack and more the world has to watch than any nation doing the same...it's annoying as fuck.
