McLaren have been moved back up to the middle of the pitlane for the Monaco Grand Prix, following their relegation down to the bottom end for the last three races.
The Woking-based team had started the season in the fifth slot between Williams and Red Bull Racing, but were informed prior to the Bahrain Grand Prix that they would be moved to the last position - after alleged complaints from rival teams.
Although it was expected that they would remain there for the rest of the season, the pitlane allocation for Monaco has seen them return to the slot between Williams and Red Bull Racing. No reason has been specified.
McLaren, whose motorhome remains at the bottom of the paddock, were unconcerned about being at the bottom of the pitlane – especially because it gave them an advantage in getting a clear exit from the pits after refuelling stops.
"Technically, it's an advantage as far as we can see and where we are in the pit lane doesn't affect the races," team boss Ron Dennis said in Bahrain. "If there is an outcome, it will be positive not negative.
"Obviously some of the other facilities are not as good as here in Bahrain, it can be a bit of a squeeze, but we're very resilient to this sort of thing."

Suuuuuuuuure. There has been a Concorde Agreement since 1981.The most recent Concorde Agreement
expired at the end of 2007 and we desire that it be renewed, not as a way for the CRH to exercise
control over the sport, but because it will provide the financial and regulatory stability desired by
the Formula One teams and the motor manufacturers who sponsor and invest significantly in
them
I did not know this.FormulaOne continues to be of tremendous benefit to the FIA. It derives in excess ofUS$ 25
million each year from Formula One (not including fines, which are often substantial sums)
which subsidises other aspects of the sport. The FIA Foundation was founded with the
substantial sum paid to the FIA by the CRH for the 100Year Agreements.

Random thing I read about Group B rally cars - "It is often reported that during the 1986 Rally of Portugal, he drove his Delta S4 at the Estoril track, and recorded a lap time which would have qualified him in sixth position at that year's Formula One Portuguese Grand Prix."

Force India want Raikkonen banned
Sunday 25th May 2008
Force India have made a formal complaint against Kimi Raikkonen and demanded that the World Champion is banned after he shunted the luckless Adrian Sutil out of the Monaco GP.
Sutil was on course to finish a career-best fourth when, shortly after the second re-start of the race following the deployment of the Safety Car, he was hit from behind by Raikkonen as the Finn lost control exiting the tunnel. As luck - well, bad luck - would have it, the Ferrari driver was able to continue, but the damage to the Force India was terminal. Sutil, close to tears, was beyond consolation.
While the German later spoke phlegmatically of the "disappointment", Mike Gascoyne, the team's Technical Director, bitterly condemned the World Champion's driving.
"Raikkonen always looked like doing stupid and in the end he did," the 'Rottweiler' barked. "If that was the other way around, and it was a little Force India driver hitting the World Champion, then he would be facing a one- or two-race ban. We've asked the stewards to take a look and act accordingly."

a ban is a bit harsh but i do expect a 5-spot penalty.http://www.planet-f1...3609267,00.html
I can see that they're mad, but banning the WDC from a race for crashing into someone, come on.

Stewards take no action on Raikkonen crash
By Pablo Elizalde Sunday, May 25th 2008, 18:05 GMT
The Monaco Grand Prix stewards have decided that no action was needed following the crash between Kimi Raikkonen and Adrian Sutil on Sunday.
Raikkonen crashed into the back of Sutil with just a few minutes of the race left, robbing the Force India driver of what looked set to be his best finish in Formula One.
Although the accident was clearly caused by Raikkonen, the stewards deemed no action was necessary.
"The Stewards after hearing the explanation of both the Competitors representatives and the drivers decided that the incident requires no further action," they said in a statement.
An emotional Sutil said after the race that he was sure Raikkonen had not done it on purpose.
"It was a great race with an incredibly sad ending," he said. "We could have had fourth place. It's incredible bad luck that Kimi crashed into me. He obviously didn't do it on purpose."
Raikkonen himself said he had just lost control of his car and there was nothing he could do to avoid hitting the Force India car.
