Jamie did the better job in points didn't he? F1s politics is sometimes just over-bearing. Get back to what really counts...racing...Ugh. That's what happens when money becomes involved.

Alguasari turned down a race seat? In hopes of a test gig?

http://planetf1.com/...-down-HRT-role-

Weird.

I'd probably take that step too. Next year is going to be a better year for testers as they get more seat time since limited in-season testing is being phased back in. He'll get a chance to show his hands against the race drivers and should impress. Seems like he's trying to pull a Massa. Personally, I'd rather have Jamie in a reserve role over Buemi.

Aren't they just taking away 1 pre season test and moving it to the middle of the season?

Marko - who oversees the firm's driver development - believes Buemi and Alguersuari had sufficient opportunities to show what they could do, and proved adequate rather than exceptional.

"Toro Rosso was created to give young drivers a chance," Marko told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Alguersuari and Buemi had it for three years and after this time it's possible to evaluate a driver's development.

"We haven't seen in them any possibility of growth. Both are worthy of grand prix racing, but for us that's not enough: we need winners."

Must be nice for Buemi to hear that said publicly as he begins the season as an RBR tester :)

This guy is a laugh a minute, I nominate him for either FIA or FOM presidency.

Not only is he a douche, but he also seems to be massively incompetent. Looking over his work, Sb is the only "young driver" to have achieved anything...and it's not like helmut discovered or groomed him, he just pounced on BMW not signing him to a permanent seat.

Jaime might be the 2nd most talented driver helmut ha ever been involved with

Not defending Marko, but he is right on this occasion. Both STR drivers were 'adequate' and not much more...

...and as a driver Marko (along with his co-drivers) held the distance record at Le Mans for like 35 years.

Still hate the dude though.

I don't disagree with the "adequate" statement. But giving the 15point driver a 3rd driver role over the driver that got 26points...Does that make any sense to anybody?

Not like it matters. If 1 and 2 cant race they'll just hire quick nick like everyone else seems to do, then sack him after a few outings. :o

Renault/Lotus seems to have created a legal ride height adjustment mechanism to stop the car from diving under braking.
