Let's not forget that the things people are saying about Vettel and Kubica today are the same things that were once said about Button, Heikki, and many others.
You did kind of hear that about Button, but that might've been the British media over-hyping a driver more than anything b/c they didn't have any other Brit to latch on to. I've never heard that kind of talk about Heikki though...

After he beat Schumi at the ROC and almost won the GP2 championship behind Nico there was a lot of buzz that he was the next Raikkonen. I think there is a lot of information about drivers that we don't know on a detailed level. Anyone remember that video about Schumi that compared the telemetry of his driving to someone else and that while there wasn't a very noticeable difference to the eye, once you looked at the telemetry it was clear why he was so much better. I think that's what people forget when they say that this person should be at a top team and not this other guy.You did kind of hear that about Button, but that might've been the British media over-hyping a driver more than anything b/c they didn't have any other Brit to latch on to. That takes some balls throwing it in and hoping it sticks while you are increasingly getting on the throttle

2008 MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi will be back behind the wheel of a Ferrari Formula 1 car before the end of the month, taking part in a private test at Mugello as reward for his title victory. Italian news agency ANSA report that the Fiat Yamaha rider will be using the F2008 car, as ridden by regular drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen in races this year.
The test will take place next Thursday and Friday (November 20th-21st), less than a week before Rossi returns to the more familiar world of two wheels for the MotoGP Official Test in Jerez.
Rossi´s previous outings in the cockpit have included two appearances at Ferrari´s Fiorano test track, one at the Mugello circuit where he has dominated in MotoGP, and an Official Formula 1 test appearance at Valencia. The latter, held in February of 2006, saw the MotoGP star lapping at little over half-a-second slower than times recorded by the then-active Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher. He had driven faster than some of the series´regulars on the opening day.
Whilst previous tests were carried out as an informal trial of sorts, to assess Rossi´s aptitude for car racing with a possible view to a switch in disciplines, this latest run is strictly for fun. The Italian will also be indulging another of his interests, rally driving, when he participates in this weekend´s Monza Rally and the British round of the WRC series next month.

One look at the KTM X-Bow should tell you it's about as close to a race car for the road as you're ever likely to see. Add to that the European GT4 Sports Light championship and it pretty much seals the deal. But if that still isn't enough, here comes the news that the 2008 Race of Champions has chosen the super-light Austrian track car to compete in this year's event.
For the uninitiated, the Race of Champions takes place every year, fielding a roster including some of the best racers from various motor sport disciplines on two wheels and four against each other on identical machinery. Each year the list of vehicles is changed, and has in the past included Ferrari, Aston Martins, Porsches, Renaults, Abarths, various rally cars and a specially-made sprint car. Last month, RoC officials took a look at the X-Bow, alongside a 4WD racer powered by a pair of Suzuki Hyabusa motorcycle engines, but the final decision just came down. You'll be able to watch the X-Bow, along with the rest of the motor-pool, being man-handled by some of the world's greatest, including F1's Sebastian Vettel, WRC's Sebastien Loeb, DTM's Mattias Ekstrom and WTCC's Andy Priaulx along with recently retired legends Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard at Wembley in London on December 14.

According to the Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell, the guestbook of the Toyota driver Timo Glock's personal website was attacked in the form of 500 vile messages in the wake of the Brazilian Grand Prix.
At Interlagos, the fact that the dry-tyred Glock slowed dramatically and ceded fifth position to Hamilton on the last lap proved decisive to the outcome of the world championship.
As a result, some racists - unhappy with Hamilton's success as the first black world champion - turned their attention to the 26-year-old Glock, who was born near the Hockenheim circuit in Germany.

Lewis Hamilton is not Formula One's only victim of racism, it has emerged.
