For a near GT/supercar. I'd imagine it's fuck of a lot easier to find a MB dealership in Indiana than it is an Aston Martin dealership.

edit: and yes, awesome new AV.

oh you meant service @ a service center.. i was thinking DIY :hs:

as for the AV, thanks!

I was not only thinking maintenance, but also emergency repair, finding a part, etc.

The whole point of a GT car is for awesome road trips, makes sense that dealer/parts availability should be a consideration.

yeah i understand and 100% agree with you on that one...
way easier to find a MB dealership than a an aston, hell it might easier to find than a mini dealership...

FS; 2010 F1 car.

Toyota's completed 2010 Formula One car, the TF110, is reportedly available for purchase by other teams.

The French newspaper Le Parisien said that despite the Japanese manufacturer deciding to pull out of F1 immediately, its Cologne-based team had completed the design for next season.

USF1 and Manor would be the most likely potential customers, given that fellow new entrant Lotus is working with Aerolab on its 2010 car, and the Dallara-built Campos chassis has already passed its front and lateral FIA crash tests.

Meanwhile, development of Sauber/Qadbak's car has been continuous despite BMW's withdrawal, and although Toro Rosso must for the first time be a full constructor in 2010, work on the Faenza-based team's next car is well advanced.

It is also believed that the car design of the rejected 2010 entrant Lola is for sale, after a 50% scale wind tunnel model dubbed the MB-01 was revealed recently.

:D

It is kind of scary the USF1 hasn't even attempted crash tests yet.

They paid their 440,000 deposit today.

Seems pretty serious to have done that.

I know we have another 4 months (?) before the next test... but considering how many seats are still open, this silly season seems a bit weird...

Seriously...a team can't really have a shootout for the seat.

The big seats open are at Brawn and McMerc.

At this rate I'm not so sure we'll have 13 teams show up at the season opener.. :o

BMW out (with little chance sauber makes it back in) #14
Toyota out #13
USF1 possible no-show. #12
Renault F1 may still pull out #11

It may end up being back to a 20 car grid :D, only with significantly less teams with any sort of 'pedigree'

That bothers me the most quite honestly... :o And it's starting to seem as if USF1 is just vaporware. If other teams have their 2010 cars ready and crash tested, USF1 is in real trouble it seems.

Assuming we have 13 cars on the grid...
1 seat open at brawn
1 seat open at mclaren
1 seat at campos
2 seats at Force India (?)
2 seats at Lotus
2 seats at bmw (?)
2 seats at manor
2 seats at USF1...

I mean seriously? 1/2 the grid is still open for drivers?

Sauber can supposedly make the grid as long as another team left, thanks to Quadbak's investment. Toyota's leaving should give them that.

It would suck developing a car for the 2010 season and then not being allowed in. I don't have high hopes for Sauber based on this thinking.

Also, what better way to start designing a car than piggy-backing Toyota's design? Nothing characterizes speed and winning more than a Toyota F1 car!

All the cars are basically the same these days, so driver acclimation (other than rookies) doesn't seem to be as big an issue as it once was. Hence, drivers don't need to be settled upon yet.

Fisi in a Ferrari would indicate otherwise.

Switching cars is different. Drivers can't test until February anyway, so there's no rush. And I'd say you're Fisi idea is wrong for another reason, the car was a dud facing cars during the height of in-season development. Also, he was able to race without problems (other than being slower than a field covered by about a secon).
