Scott Speed has played down the possibility of a return to Formula One. The Californian's one and a half season tenure at Toro Rosso ended acrimoniously in 2007, and he is now a firmly-established NASCAR driver with Red Bull.
"I hardly even follow Formula One any more," he told the Dutch publication formule.nl, albeit admitting he is happy to see his energy drink sponsor doing so well in F1, and his former team-mate Tonio Liuzzi back on the racing grid.
Next year, the Charlotte based USF1 outfit is scheduled to debut in F1 with the eventual aim of fielding an all-American line-up.
"My future is in America," Speed said. "I have an extremely good relationship with Red Bull and it's never been any different. I am very happy with what the company has done for me and I will remain always loyal to them."

Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton this week visited the grave of his childhood idol Ayrton Senna.
The McLaren driver wanted to visit the Morumbi cemetery, located near the Interlagos circuit, on his previous visits to Sao Paulo in 2007 and 2008, but on both occasions he was in contention for the title.
"I've wanted to do it for the last two years, but I was being followed and all kinds. I wasn't yesterday, at least I don't think I was," he said. "It's an awesome place, very simple, just a plaque. For me it was special.
Senna was killed during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, when Hamilton was just nine years of age

Barrichello lends Button his plane
By Jonathan Noble Sunday, October 18th 2009, 21:48 GMT
Newly crowned world champion Jenson Button will be allowed to celebrate his title with his team, friends and family in Brazil on Sunday night - after Brawn GP team-mate Rubens Barrichello generously laid on his private jet to take the Briton back home on Monday morning.
Button had originally been scheduled to fly to London on the Sunday night British Airways flight out of Sao Paulo, but that plan was thrown into doubt with the scheduled aircraft suffering technical problems.
And although there remains the chance that the flight will still be able to leave, Button has been allowed to stay in Brazil on Sunday night thanks to the generosity of his team-mate.
Even though Barrichello suffered the disappointment of seeing his own title ambitions end with an eighth place in the race, he told Button that he would fly him and his entourage out of Brazil in his own private jet on Monday morning – ready for the new world champion's first public appearances in the UK from Tuesday.
Button is due to appear at the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent on Tuesday afternoon for a sponsorship event on behalf of Virgin Media.

Why doesn't Jenson have a plane?

He has 2 HondaJets on order. He's not going to be able to take delivery of the jet for a while as they haven't even started FAA certification. Why doesn't Jenson have a plane?

I really do think they get along well, which is nice to see. That is really cool of Rubens. He might be emo at times, but really cool to see team-mates that are really mates off the track as well.

YES!I did, however, notice that the stuff I got back at the beginning of the season isn't available anymore.... Wonder if that makes it any more valuable.

Williams will switch to Cosworth engines next season, AUTOSPORT has learned, after believing its prospects for success in 2010 are best served with the independent engine maker.
Although the Grove-based outfit came close to a deal with Renault, high level sources at the French car manufacturer have revealed that Williams has now informed the company that it is no longer interested in a tie-up for next year.
With Toyota already having confirmed that it is ending its customer supply deal at the end of this year, it means that Williams has now settled on a switch to Cosworth.
Williams is refusing to confirm its engine plans until after the end of the season, but its engineering director Patrick Head praised Cosworth's efforts in preparing for its return to Formula 1.
"They are certainly very committed to it and working hard," he said. "They have been one of the options but we are not stating where we cast our final hook in terms of what is available to us until after the final race of the season. But I think our design office know what they are designing for."
Sources claim that one of the key attractions for Cosworth is the fact that the engine supplier will be able to re-tune its power unit until early next year - something no other manufacturer is able to do because of F1's engine freeze.
The tweaks could help ensure Cosworth's engine is competitive throughout 2010, which is why Red Bull Racing is also considering a switch to the power unit if it is unsuccessful in its bid to secure Mercedes-Benz power.
Head said that his team had chosen to finish its partnership with Toyota because it fancied a change of direction.
"We had a very good relationship with Toyota," he said. "We made a decision about two months ago that we wanted to go in a different direction and I think the reasons are not for public consumption.
"We haven't had any falling out so it's an amicable parting. There were a number of factors that caused us to make the decision but I don't think that the combination of the reasons we decided to make a change are not ones that we are prepared to share. But it was nothing that caused any shouting and screaming, we chose to change direction.
"Ross Brawn and the team showed that you can make an engine change on Christmas Eve and still produce a pretty competitive car but I don't think our design office would thank us for doing that and they will have a little longer than that to design the car around the engine."

"I want to send my warmest congratulations to Jenson Button for clinching the Formula One drivers' championship in Brazil, on the same circuit that Lewis Hamilton won the drivers' championship last year. We can be proud that Jenson is the 10th British driver to win the title. His performances over the season with the new Brawn team have excited Formula One fans in Britain and across the world, and we look forward to his continuing success in the seasons ahead."
