:eek3:

If that isnt favoritism I dont know what is. Mclarens shit doesnt fit there but the little teams learn how to squeeze their shit in. Even if Mclaren had more shit to store than the smaller teams they should work around it - thats why it was called a penalty. Fuck Bernie Eccelstone

McLaren Mercedes brings a ton of money and attention into the sport as a whole, via sponsorships and corporate bigwigs and whatnot.

F1 isn't going to give that up.

I still think the penalty against McLaren was partially personal, as Renault was found guilty of the exact same thing and NOTHING happened to them.

Bottom line, the FIA as a governing body for F1 is full of fail, aids, nazi orgies and so on...

oh and FOX broadcast?????
are we still having the same commentators?
There's no way i can watch an F1 race with the generic "and they're off!" and "look at dat drafting" commentary

Brundle in hot water over disparaging slur
Monday 9th June 2008

ITV commentator Martin Brundle is in hot water after making a disparaging slur during Sunday's broadcast of the Canadian GP.

During the live pre-race build up on ITV1, Brundle asked F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone for his thoughts on the work being carried out to resurface the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. However, in doing so that former F1 driver used a rather inappropriate choice of word.

"There are some pikeys there at Turn 10 putting tarmac down - what do you think of that?" he asked Ecclestone, neither paying any attention to Brundle's choice of words.

The use of the word "pikey", which is originally used as a slang reference to gypsies or travellers but has over the years become a mild form of disparagement, saw Brundle and ITV reported to the UK's racial equality watchdog.

A spokesman for the new Equality and Human Rights Commission told the Daily Mail: "This word has been used on television in the past and is highly derogatory. They have caused much offence in the past."

:o He normally doesn't, but he's normally talking to the Brits, who are usually more open than the Ferrari/BMW drivers.

Race Features

The penalty imposed on Lewis Hamilton proves the stewards don't always get it right. Plus was Kimi Raikkonen actually to blame for Hamilton crashing into the back of him?

Kimi's fault? :o

Hamilton says there is no stopping him

By Jonathan Noble and Pablo Elizalde Tuesday, June 10th 2008, 08:57 GMT

Lewis Hamilton says "nothing can stop" his McLaren team this season, the Briton claiming he has already put his Canadian Grand Prix blunder behind.

The McLaren driver lost the championship lead to BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica in Montreal, after he crashed into the back of Kimi Raikkonen after failing to see the red light at the end of the pitlane in time.

Hamilton will also start the French Grand Prix on the back foot after receiving a ten-place grid penalty for the incident.

But the Briton, who was running strongly in the race before the crash, says the accident will not affect him, and he reckons that nothing can stop him now.

"This will make no difference," said Hamilton of the accident. "I t hasn't knocked me confidence-wise. I'm not gutted or disappointed.

"Going forward the mood is strong. The fact is we destroyed everyone this weekend. With the car we have right now there is no stopping us.

"It is not going to take me a day to recover or anything. I'll be up first thing training and really looking forward to Magny-Cours. You can't win them all.

Hamilton labeled the rule that cost him the crash and the penalty as "silly".

"We are baffled how it came to that in the space of 30 seconds," he said. "They fuelled me longer I had two guys in front of me and suddenly they have stopped as I have looked at the red light.

"Personally I think the rule is silly. We are in the race, how can you see a red light at the end of the pitlane? But that's the rule and I accept it."

But the 21-year-old admitted that starting from the middle of the pack in France will give him added motivation.

"I start ten places back in the next race. It's a bit harsh really. I didn't aim to ruin anyone's race. I've already lost everything. This makes me stronger. I can't wait for Magny-Cours."

:o at article title. apparently kimi raikkonen and a ferrari will stop him just fine, literally.

Even Sir Jackie Stewart, one of Hamilton's staunchest supporters, is questioning his level of maturity in the wake of the Montreal howler.

"When he looks back in four or five years he will question himself about what sort of person and driver he was in 2007 and 2008," the Scot said.

 that article with the Hamilton quotes is gold, it almost sounds like an Onion.com parody piece... "we destroyed everyone this weekend"? Starting with destroying a certain Ferrari in the pits, amirite? And this "It is not going to take me a day to recover or anything" overeagerness, trashtalking to no one in particular. Hammy's starting to be good for the lulz :wtf:
