Hamilton says he can still win in France
By Pablo Elizalde Wednesday, June 11th 2008, 15:49 GMT
Briton Lewis Hamilton believes he can still win the French Grand Prix despite the penalty he was given in Canada.
The McLaren driver will lose ten grid positions at the Magny-Cours race after crashing into the back of Kimi Raikkonen when he failed to see the red light at the end of the pitlane in time.
Although that means Hamilton will start from at least 11th place in France, he is still confident he can finish on top.
"I feel quite confident that we can still win there. That's my job," Hamilton was quoted as saying by Reuters.
"I've got to have that belief in myself and the team. I still feel we can finish in the top three but it's going to be a real challenge."
Hamilton also dismissed suggestions that the Montreal incident was a career low.
"It was nowhere near one of my lowest points. I don't even particularly feel it was a low point. It was one of those things you just have to come to terms with and move on. In the race I was on top of my game," he said.
The Briton lost the championship lead to BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica in Canada and is now four points behind the Pole.
He added: "I believe it is going to be very difficult to win but I don't plan on it going to the last race. We will push as hard as we can to do the job, it doesn't matter if it is early or the last race. So long as we get it done."

he said it wasn't one of his lowest points..
when you have career highlights like beaching it in shanghai and pressing the pit limiter at interlagos to give the WDC away to your rival of course it's not going to be your lowest point

if kimi leads a ferrari 1-2 in france (like last year) with cubicle in 4th then we could see
Ain't that the truth. He needs to shut up and start performing again or Ronny better tell him to shut his trap until he delivers a few WDCs...

Davidson tests for Honda again
Anthony Davidson has returned to Formula One action in testing with Honda in Barcelona this morning.
The Briton was sidelined when the Super Aguri team went out of business on the eve of the Turkish Grand Prix, but had been determined to find a way back into F1 rather than switching to another category.
Davidson had previously tested for Honda from 2002 to 2006, prior to getting his race break with Super Aguri. He is set to run for the full day today as Honda work on the final round of upgrades for this year's RA108 before attention switches to the 2009 design.

So Davidson got his test seat back in the Honda team. Question remains, what is Honda gonna do for Sato?

you don't think the USGP will be back on the calendar next yr? or U just mad coz it's not there this yr?
Posted 12 June 2008 - 03:35 PM
mad cause there isn't one this year...
Posted 12 June 2008 - 03:43 PM
ah well sorry to hear. But I think it'll be back, if that's any consolation....
Posted 12 June 2008 - 03:59 PM
yeah but comparing Jenson's performance to Rubens thus far this season, I would really like to see honda vacate Rubens seat for someone who's NOT so stale
I don't think wurz is sweating coz he know he is brought in to help build a new car for brawn. No point wasting his talent on testing a car destined for the scrap yards...

Sato needs to take Wubens' seat. AKA: Sato needs to take his seat back from grandpa.
Look at Honda's performance when Davidson was their test driver. And look at it now. :x

I don't think the test driver has had much to do with the wheels coming off at honda...had more to do with key technical departures while opening up a new and problematic wind tunnel.Sato needs to take Wubens' seat. AKA: Sato needs to take his seat back from grandpa.

That being said, maybe this davidson drive is a prelude to a sato/davidson shoot out this winter for wuben's seat?
At their current trajectory, I don't think Honda will be able to recruit a much better driver then jens...so maybe a 1 year deal for sato-san until they can get back up into 3rd/4th in the constructors?

I though working in accord, pilot, and crx would've been over the topLOL. You used the word "prelude" within a post about "honda"...nice lol.
