One more year for Jens. Poor guy.

I sat back and thought about the motors in today's F1 cars...if you pull back from the overall car/racing/political scene and just focus on the engine, it's kind of "holy shit, that's pretty fucking incredible" piece of tech.
You have an engine that's 1.5L turbocharged V6 that makes a combined estimated electric/internal combustion 900hp (Merc anyways...) in just 2 years that needs to lasts 3 race weekends that include 3 Free Practice Sessions, 1 qualification session and 1 race. And it has only been 10 years since V10s were making 1000hp for only a weekend. And just 20 years from when they used to make 1000 hp for one session! While consuming 1/3 less fuel?
That's fucking impressive. Now if they can find the aero package and stop killing the historic racetracks, F1 would be quite alright.

Yep, but I think even more important than aero is opening up engine changes. It's total bullshit that we're watching such 1-sided domination from an engine that was designed 2 years ago.
The regulations shouldn't serve to sustain dominance.

Oh totally agree. When you get back to the politics, it's completely asinine to freeze engines and not allow others to catch up.
I read somewhere that the token system hasn't helped reduce cost at all, but has added even more cost because now teams work on the back-end to develop a part and if it's not a significant change, they won't introduce it because of the limited tokens. So they've inadvertently caused a secret arms race where no one benefits until a token is used. All those incremental changes could ultimately lead to a catch-up. All wasted man-hours and testing just literally burning money...so stupid.

Whoever thought it was smart to freeze a BRAND NEW ENGINE DESIGN FORMULA from day one is a moron.

Yep...What the fuck were they thinking?
On top of that, MB lost 117m last year to WIN the WDC. That doesn't even make sense!

Since everyone is talking about it
- Nice job Vettel, up to p2 in the standings
- Dumb job Kimi
- Merc's are the 2015 constructors champions
- Epic accidents across the board
- Nice job Perez/Force India

I still don't care for most Tilkedromes but turn 3 at Sochi is a good one. Lots of risky overtakes without DRS at high speed and maximum lateral G makes for good entertainment.

First 3 corners - WOOOOO!!!!!
Corners 4 - Lap 7 - Fuck... time trial race again
Pedro's vtec kicking in - made the race interesting

The MotoGP championship is so tight...I'm pulling hair.
And Pedrosa is definitely still an alien. These last two races have been spectacular for him - considering all the injuries he's had in his career, I'm happy to see him doing well again. As long as he doesn't cost Rossi the 10th...

So I havent watched the race highlights on the F1 site for over a year, but I went there today to check out the Russian race and you can't even watch them for free now. Have to subscribe to F1 access to watch a shitty 5 minute highlights clip

And Moto3 race.HOLY SHIT was that an intense MotoGP race!!!!
But MotoGP man... Whole race on the edge of my seat. That Ducati motor down the straights was insane. Sepang next weekend is going to be a drag race down the straights.
Rossi needs to beat Lorenzo next weekend, if it comes down to Valencia I have a feeling the Spanish Armada is going to cost Rossi the title.

Holy shit that MotoGP race was EPPIC!
Rossi can still come behind Lorenzo, but he has to follow him home in the remaining races. The other spanish riders could easily put some in between Rossi & Lorenzo as well.
Those wings are making a difference on that Duc too tho, keeping the front end down under power helps keep the smallest point thru the air under acceleration. Noticed Lorenzo took them off from the last race, maybe because of tire wear?
I vote we change the thread to 2015 MotoGP Thread, lol.

Where did Ducati find that power suddenly??? Isn't the Honda supposed to be the strongest?

Actually, I just tried it and it worked for me, no pay. what region are you in? The craziest part was the Russian running across track to pickup the broken end plate.

Hm I checked it again. The race highlights are the ones you need F1 Access for. Race edit is still free. But the highlights were up way before the edit so I just assumed that's how it was now.
