Later in the article:
"The controversy, that is something that has mainly been pushed up by media I would say, has been dealt with directly by our shareholders in Malaysia and with the owners of the 1Malaysia racing team [Team Lotus' parent company], and doesn't really touch us.

Smart of them to release the livery now,
Maybe they should now just plaster the car with Richard Branson in a stewardess outfit photo

But RenaultF1 majority shareholder and Genii Capital chairman Gerard Lopez denied that it was the case. "We always had the idea and then it leaked out through the press. "Three days later they [Team Lotus] were announcing they were doing black and gold. At the end of the day, I don't think there will be any confusion as to which cars will be which in terms of position on the track."
What Team Lotus will be called next season is a different matter entirely. The outfit insists it has the rights 'under licence' to use the Lotus name although the Proton owned Group Lotus have since revoked the license agreement.
Bahar added that Proton will be handling the legal side of the affair with Team Lotus chief executive Riad Asmat also acknowledging the case will indeed proceed to London's High Court.

The world of Formula One seems a slightly confused place at the moment. With two teams baring the Lotus name set to compete in 2011, and both potentially doing so in black and gold livery, it's hard not to wonder what on earth is going on.
The question most fans are asking is: which team is the real Lotus? Well unfortunately there is no simple answer, as in some sense both teams are.
The primary distinction between the two parties that needs to be made is that Tony Fernandes' team are 'Team Lotus', while it is 'Group Lotus' who have joined forces with Renault.
In 1952, Colin Chapman formed Lotus Engineering, and two years later established Team Lotus, a separate entity from Lotus Engineering. Team Lotus developed into the outfit which won seven Constructors' titles and six Drivers' titles.
While the team underwent many changes and past through a number of different owners, it is what remained of the original team, then Pacific Team Lotus, that James Hunt purchased. Tony Fernandes has now acquired the rights to name 'Team Lotus' from Hunt, with the use of 'Lotus' in 2009 having been agreed to by the Litespeed group that initially bid for entry into F1.
The history of 'Group Lotus', who have bought into the Renault team, is born out of the Lotus Cars and Lotus Engineering divisions, which were not involved in F1. 'Group Lotus' was bought by General Motors in 1986 and then sold ten years later to Proton, its current owners.
While Fernandes has often spoken of continuing the traditions of the originally Lotus team, something that the Chapman family have giving their blessing to, it appears Lotus Renault have little interest in the former glories of the Lotus name in F1.
"We have never claimed to be Team Lotus," Group Lotus CEO Dany Bahar told the Daily Telegraph
"We never want to be Team Lotus. That was a successful era of the company but it is an era which we should leave it in the past.
"We have no confusion on our side at all. We have built Lotus cars for many years. We have an ambitious racing programme and we have decided to team up with one of the top five teams."
In essence both parties are simply trying to piggy back on one of the sport's greatest names. Fernandes at least intends to build the same spirit as the original 'Team Lotus' where as Lotus Renault would be more aptly named Proton Renault, but that doesn't quite have the same ring to it...

I've determined that Group Lotus are cocksuckers.
They constantly claim the triumphs of the past Lotus F1 teams (check the link for pictures of their website and offices), despite being a totally different entity, then claiming they never 'wanted to be' Team Lotus.

Corporate doubletalkers who don't know/care about racing, sports cars, or the history of the name. Fuck them.

Do the Pirelli sidewalls look more square than the B-stones to anyone else?
Good eye. Yeah they do, and I'm glad they look meatier than the Bridgestones. The front Bridgestones looked like they were skinnier than my Dunlops
edit: Although that might just be a mock-up. The Group Fauxtus tires look more like the last-gen Bridges.

So the FIA are likely to agree on that turbo 1.6L engine formula for 2013 onwards, with plans to keep power output the same. At least no indications of a 10krpm rev limit yet.
I bet they'll either limit pressure or revs.

In 1988 they could get 675hp from 12.5krpm 2.5bar... I think the target of 750hp could be easily achievable by todays manufacturing standards. And that was with a 1.5L engine..
I bet they'll either limit pressure or revs.
Maybe that 10krpm limit isn't that far fetched

They may surpeise us, hope is not lost. Yet.So many wrongs on so many levels. When are they, the FIA going to realize that we, the fans, ENJOY the visual and acoustic orgasms that an F1 car can produce?

Team Lotus may stick with green and yellow liveryTeams: Lotus | Renault Team Lotus may ditch its plans of reverting to the iconic black and gold livery for the 2011 season after RenaultF1 announced on Wednesday that Group Lotus had become the title sponsor and a major shareholder of the team.
Tony Fernandes' team recently announced it would abandon its green and yellow livery made famous by Colin Chapman's cars in favour of the black and gold of the JPS-sponsored cars driven by the likes of Ayrton Senna in the 80s.
But when RenaultF1 released pictures of its likely livery for 2010 on Wednesday, fans of Team Lotus urged the Malaysian outfit to simply stick with green and yellow. Technical director Mike Gascoyne's secretary even took a poll on the matter with 77% in favour of retaining the current colours.
"Seems pretty conclusive," said Gascoyne.
Fernandes went even further, accusing Group Lotus CEO Dany Bahar of 'hijacking' his team's livery plans. "Looks like they [are] trying to hijack our black and gold idea," he said. "Funny, first meeting I had was in the Lotus room. Wonder if Dany is going to try and sponsor that."
"I think that will be fair to everyone and the courts will explain everything to everyone," Asmat told Bernama news agency.
