McLaren Protest:

"Given the doubt that has now been thrown on the quality of judgement displayed by those comprising the sport's governing body it is our intention to appeal the verdict given against McLaren last year. We have a new team of lawyers and the concentration of our camp is focused on getting right down to the bare essentials, exposing the soft underbelly of what we see as shabby justice handed out to us and thrashing this matter out fully one more time. We don't intend to be the sole whipping boy for the sport when other teams have engaged in behaviour that we believe merited penalties but escaped without sanction. We intend to go at this hell for leather even if it means the parties come out of it somewhat bruised and beaten."

the Top Gear Crew forms Top Ground Gear Force and make-over a garden. It's not cars, but it's funny. Looks like a one-off episode.

World champion Kimi Raikkonen said on Thursday he would like to follow his Ferrari predecessor Michael Schumacher in trying out a MotoGP bike.

Schumacher, the seven times world champion who retired at the end of 2006, took part in his first competitive motorcycle race in Italy at the weekend after previously trying out Ducati's MotoGP machine.

"I only saw some pictures but I don't know anything about it," Raikkonen told reporters at the Bahrain Grand Prix when asked if he seen Schumacher's race.

"I never tried road racing. I have done motocross often and that is more normal for me," added the Finn, who is chasing his second Formula One victory in a row on Sunday after last month's triumph in Malaysia.

"For sure I want to try the MotoGP bikes once, but we'll see."

Schumacher finished fourth in his KTM minor series race at Misano on Sunday and recorded the second fastest lap. He also tested for the Ducati MotoGP team at Mugello today.

OT: help my helmet
I have an Arai GP5k, but it is tearing to bits. Does anyone know how to fix the cheek pads??? I don't want to pay for another helmet!! You'd think a helmet that cost this much would have replaceable cheek pads!!!

I have tried -- no luck. Seeing if anyone knew of aftermarket pads or something.
Hah. I know, I used to follow you in OT:AP until you quit postin :embd:
I have a D200 w/ 17-50 2.8 Tamron, 70-200 2.8, 50mm 1.8, and 10-17 Tokina fisheye

The only replacement pads I see online are for a GP-5W.

Even Arai doesn't list them (http://www.araihelp.com/parts.html)

Sorry I couldn't help more dude. :(

It's all good bro.
Who woulda known...a frikkin' $700 helmet, and you can't even replace the damn pads. Not everyone makes F1-bucks and can afford a new Arai every fuggin' race goddamnit!! Even lesser motorcycle helmets can replace the pads :wtc:

I kinda forgot about OTAP when I quit shooting at the end of the Racing season, I pop in there from time to time, but when I'm not shooting, I don't really think about Camera stuff that much. I guess I just have WAAAY too many hobbies...

I'd like to get rid of my D50 & D2h and get a D300, I have a Sigma 24 - 60 2.8 that I pretty much keep on the D50 all the time, I rarely ever use my 50, and the 70 - 200 pretty much lives on the D2h, I also have a 70 - 300, but rarely ever use it anymore since I got the 70 - 200.
