:barf: at that rear wing!

I'd rather see the 2 wings behind each wheel they talked about a couple years ago...

:eek3:

it looks goofy as shit.

Then again, this is just williams...I have a feeling RBR, Ferrari and macca will probably come up with something a little sleeker.

I know this isn't exactly scientific, but if the cars are going to be 400mm wider this might be what they'll look like.

:hs:

nevermind, I could have sworn that I read somewhere that they would be increased from 1400mm to 1800mm wide, but they must have mixed up two different measurements the FIA uses. I just read that the cars would be wider in a recent article, but then I looked at the actual FIA regulations and the cars will remain at 1800mm wide. So I don't know. In for the ugly. Carry on.

edit- As it turns out in the March version of the regulations stated that the cars would going to be 2m instead of 1.8, but the final version keeps them at 1.8m. Shitty.

Here's a Eurosport video with a rendering of the 2009 Williams at the 5:50 mark.

headline: what would doctor freud say?

:hs:

and:

In the wake of allegations that Rubens Barrichello sang “Schumacher is a homo” at a Ferrari party in Sao Paulo, the Brazilian has dropped another hint that his working relationship with the seven-time champion wasn’t as healthy as we might have believed.

Speaking at an awards night in Sao Paulo (again), Rubens reacted to a question about Homogate. He said:

“The public does not know even half of the story about what I experienced with Ferrari. Perhaps they will be able to read the truth one day in a book.”

Oooh, the tease.

Troubles at BMW? :hs:

BMW Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld has backed team boss Mario Theissen's target of challenging for the 2009 world championship.

"It is not unrealistic," the 31-year-old German told sport1.de, "because so far the team has achieved all its goals in every season."

BMW finished the 2008 season in a comfortable third place, but Heidfeld scored 15 fewer points than team-mate, Robert Kubica, following a mid-season slump.

Kubica, however, similarly suffered a remarkable slump right at the end of the season, resulting in his loss of third place in the drivers' classification to Kimi Raikkonen.

Heidfeld, who has always had a tense relationship with the 23-year-old, said: "I hope that in 2009 I am still faster than Robert."

In more than 150 Grand Prix, Heidfeld has scored 11 podiums but no wins.

Perhaps Alonso/Hamilton won't be the only bitter in-team fighting we see. :o

He's probably not too happy that Kubica came in outta nowhere and made everyone question the validity of the nickname 'Quick Nick'.

Schumacher offered SBK ride

By Pablo Elizalde Friday, November 14th 2008, 10:24 GMT

Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher has been offered a ride in the World Superbike Championship next year by Honda.

The German, who retired from Formula One racing at the end of the 2006 season, has been taking part in German superbike races during the year.

He also tested for the Ducati MotoGP team.

"Michael is convinced that the German championship is right for him at the moment," Honda Racing's Carlo Fiorani was quoted as saying by Gazzetta dello Sport. "For the moment he has not asked us to race in the 2009 world championship.

"But if he wants to, there is a way for him (to do it). All he has to do is ask us."

Schumacher has always maintained, however, that he had no intention to start a serious racing career on bikes.
