well I want something that is snell SA2005 rated, but I only use it for karting. I was looking at pyrotect coz they were cheaper, coz I figured they're all technically Bells anyways. But I dunno? maybe you can shed some light on this?

I sold a K2 Sport to my friend for Karting. It's the same shell as the K-1 Pro, but it's SA-rated instead of K-rated. The SA helmet actually felt lighter than the K helmet did (we didnt' bother to weigh them both).

I've never heard the link in the Pyrotects and Bell. I'm sure Bell won't agree.

Actually I've heard this too - that Bell purchased Pyrotech and produces their helmets, with more fiberglass construction than carbon...to achieve it's targeted price range. But it's all hearsay as I can't find any definitive proof. :shrugs:

i forgot where I read this, but what I read was that Pyrotect and Bell were once the same company. but then some where down the line, Bell (west coast) and Bell (east coast) split, and Bell west coast became Pyrotect. I even read that they still use the same manufacturer

All the Bell helmets are manufactured in Ranoutle, IL, in their own factory. Always have been.

I'm not aware of anything else they produce in their factory.

there is a factory claiming to produce helmets for Bell in China, this I'm certain of. I was gonna get in touch with them through my parents export company, but never got around to it. if you'd like to look into this I'm sure I can dig up their info somewhere...

Bell sold the rights to their name to some company in Europe years ago. They're sold in the US under some other brand now, claiming to be "Just like Bell" which isn't true.

God, i wish I could remember what the name of that company was.

All authentic Bell helmets are made in Rantoul, auto and motorcycle. I'm supposed to go see the factory later this year, but i've talked to the 3 people in sales a TON and met with them in Orlando for the PRI show last December.

Ooo, any previews? I want to do a design for my Arai too. But no idea on what to do...I've decided on red/white/black as my colors for sure though.

This is one of the designs I worked, on. There is a tribal fish on the top.

Considering the WRC is heading the way of the Dodo, let's start a rumour of 'Loeb to F1'...

oh that fish. Well I was thinking more of teh Chinese representation of the fish (wealth and prosperity). I'm really religious. But I didn't want just any fish, and took the idea from Kimi's helmet how he has "tribal" like design on the top of his helmet.

heheh I missed a word in there (my ninja edit is a bit slow today, tired from flying to Hong Kong). I meant to say "not" religious.... but I am Catholic by choice. my parents are Buddhist, dad's not religious, mom's a little. I don't really know what my brother is.... he might be a little on the anarchist side... we both have a little bit of a god complex. :dunno:

im with ya, but the higher power is debatable. i think that the higher power we observe is the interaction of time and matter that creates the world around us. so to me, the universe is god, thus you and i are god as well since we are parts of the universe (which is the same as the atman/brahman concept in buddhism and hinduism.)

i have come along way from the little baptist church i used to go to 3 times a week

I believe in enlightenment, which is what i think you're speaking of...where you grow, and learn and keep trying to better yourself thru each of your life cycles. so does that mean you believe in reincarnation?

When I was living in NC I decided to go to a baptist church, ONCE. and I did not go to church again for the yr I was living in NC.

I felt violated having god shoved down my throat the way they were preaching.... :dunno:

well, i dont believe in spiritual reincarnation. like i dont think im going to come back as something or someone else. but, the matter that composes my body with eventually be used in other living things, and to me, thats reincarnation.
