It was OK, would have been better had BOT not botched the 3rd start...  That MotoGP race on the other hand was

Would’ve been great if Rossi kept 3rd, all VR46 academy podium ftw... maybe next weekend. P1 and P2 in both Moto2 and MotoGP were academy riders... good job Rossi bring up the next generation.

What a cluster of a race. Still entertaining though.

Hope F1 takes note of the benefits of the banked corners and fixes some of other tracks with overtaking difficulties

Anyone know who is streaming the 24 Hour this weekend or is it just Motortrends service?

I really don't understand why the F1 drivers are so against reverse grid races.

Guys in the top cars "it's a stupid idea as that's not real competition"

Guys in the slowest cars "it's a stupid idea because we get made to look stupid by the guys in faster cars"

:uh:

Yes it does shake things up a bit but in general the best still comes out on top at the end of the season, albeit maybe with less total wins. Maybe that's why they're against it.

I'm all for races where people have to earn the podium by having to make passes. There has to be some incentive to take risks and go for the overtake, otherwise we might as well do quali on Saturday and then call it a weekend. I do think F2 has the right balance of feature race and sprint race, best of both worlds.

Minimum of 2 pitstops would help... this 1 stop with tires that last 50 laps doesn't make it good... have the tires start dropping off or blistering after 20-25 laps...

Either push hard in the beginning to open up a gap or go a longer distance and make a sprint at the end...

Pirelli wouldn't want that nightmare PR of teams complaining about blistering and tire deg every weekend

I had the impression that in both F4 and F3 his first season would be nothing special, before something clicking halfway through his 2nd season after which he often took a string of wins to then win the title at the end of the championship. I believe it's turned out a bit similar in F2, although it's still to be seen whether he will win the championship or not - but he's not far off the lead

2 races left in the season, 22points in the lead. Think he's got a decent shot unless he really does poorly at the 2 rounds in Bahrain

With the points lead he has, mathematically he can not finish lower than 2nd so F1 seat next year should be pretty much guaranteed I think.

edit: just checked and if someone wins both feature and spring race and takes fastest lap in both then they could score up to 44 points in a weekend which might make 3rd also possible if Schumacher doesn't score any points as that's the gap to the guy in 3rd.

My bad, there are 2 more rounds, so 88 pts up for grabs. But given his recent form and consistency it would take some pretty bad races or DNFs to lose it.

Oh damn indeed it's 2 weekends at Sakhir, not the 2 races of a single weekend :o

Horner said the team will take time to source a new engine: "As a group, we will now take the time afforded to us to further evaluate and find the most competitive power unit solution for 2022 and beyond."

More like take time to figure out how to crawl back to Renault? :mamoru:

Well the race at Nurburgring showed how worthless weather predictions are.

As for next year, both Hulkenberg and Perez will be looking for seats. Both deserve to find a seat but they're probably both chasing the Albon seat. Not sure who is more worthy.

Giovinazzi actually had a good race but I wonder if it's too little too late. Would be surprised if Mick Schumacher does not take his spot.

No new engine formula until 2026?  And even then it'll still be a hybrid ICE?

Fantastic race and fantastic drive from Lewis. From being 30 seconds down to winning by 30 seconds while lapping his teammate who spun 6! times.

What a shocking accident. Really glad Grosjean is ok. The halo saved his life I think.

I just bought a track car to get back into driving. The accident really made me question my decision.
