That is the thing... Engine freeze after there is equality makes sense.  Engine freeze from day one is stupid.

 

 

Didn't watch, Silverstone is my least favorite old track anyway...

Of the remaining races left, I will for sure watch qualifying for Spa, USGP, and Suzuka and MAYBE the races, the rest I might watch qualifying and I'll just look online for the race results...

That's a shame; you missed a very good race then.  Even tho the results doesn't seem like it, I had no idea the who the winner was going to be until the last 10 laps or so.  If F1 could produce these kinds of races ALL the time, no one would be bitching about the sport.

WOW.  This is a much bigger radio clamp down than I had expected...exactly what R recommended last year when I was in SF w/ DDA & Jimmy, haha.   

 

No more info on:  

 

• Critical problems with the car
• Problems with competitors’ cars
• Instructions to enter the pits 
• Surface conditions of the track (oil, standing water, debris, etc.)
• Instructions to swap position with other drivers (such as passing information)
• Marshalling information (including flags, restarts and other commands from race control)

It also solves the whole problem of team orders aka: "Multi 21" and "Alonso is faster than you, do you copy" Bullshit.  And the best part is it starts at Spa

seems like the only restriction is no changing clutch bite point on the way to the start.

Formula 1's engine-related regulation changes outlined:

- The simplification of the power unit penalties, ensuring that the most a driver can be penalised is to be demoted to the rear of the grid – this will eliminate penalties during the race for these infractions.

- New power unit manufacturers to F1 will receive an extra power unit for each driver to use throughout Grands Prix for the season, bringing the total to five – one more than the existing power unit suppliers. This will be applied retrospectively to Honda.

Both changes will come into force with immediate effect.
