I like how in MotoGP, their bikes get a little more personalized...in F1, that would never fly.

Cal Crutchlow's pinky finger after he dropped it in practice - grinded down to the bone. He wanted to get back on the bike?! wtf!?

I'm hoping Spies does better next race. Just got a really bad launch...
You're right though...Pedrosa doesn't look like he has the strength to hang. He just looked toasted...

Spies is quicker than most, but when Lorenzo/Stoner/Pedrosa/Rossi are on their game they still operate at a whole different level that I'm not sure Spies can match. Assuming all riders on equal machines and all on a good day I still think he'd be about fifth fastest of the grid, behind the aforementioned.Really hope Stoner doesn't win this chip :-/

Out of the lot only Stoner and Pedrosa have the machinery to be able to win any given weekend. Lorenzo will keep up and compensate the lack of bike speed with raw talent, but there will be weekends where he just can't do a damn thing about the Hondas running away with it. He needs Yamaha to develop the bike quickly and also to consistently stick on the podium until they do, so the points deficit isn't too large in the 2nd half of the season.
Even if Rossi was 100% healthy right now the bike would still only be about on pace for 4th, being hurt all winter has cost them in development big time. He needs to get healthy and Burgess needs to work his magic quickly. This race is the first full race distance that VR46 has ridden since the operation I'm guessing they are looking towards the 2nd half of the season and next year for wins/chips.
I also would prefer if Stoner didn't once again walk into a good situation for a championship, but he is fast as hell and its his for the losing at this point.

VR won't be get enough points to mount a challenge right now and it'll be game over by the 2nd half of the season. Plus, the Duc's is still geared for Stoner. For raw speed - Stoner's got to be the quickest on the grid - to be able to walk from Ducati right into Honda and just put it on podium & the win...is pretty nuts.
You're right about Lorenzo - but I disagree with Spies. I think he'll be considered an 'alien' pretty soon here. After he got pass Rossi, he was gaining ground on Dovi with the quickness. Plus, he has been Lorenzo's match all during testing and last year on inferior Tech3 machine he was able to do some heavy damage. Honda & Ducati run equal factory / satellite gear, but Yamaha has been known to give less than stellar gear to their satellite squads.
I'm surprised at how far back Hayden is though...

WTF was Rossi doing outbraking himself like that?

I really, REALLY wanted Spies on the podium as I did with Edwards. GAH.
WTF was Rossi doing outbraking himself like that?
Rossi fan here and I'll admit that he was gifted the rain, then he threw it away with that outbreaking issue, then still gifted 5th... that man lucked out today...
I was hoping Rossi would take it at the pace he was running those first few laps, after that I wanted Simoncelli to take it, then he binned it, then I wanted Spies to take it, then he binned it... I just didn't want Lorenzo to take the win, hell, I'd take Pedro for the win before Lorenzo...
Glad Hopper beat Capi though, that was the one highlight of this cluster fuck of a race... the rain did keep it interesting that's for sure

What a smug Casey "ambition outweigh your talent, huh?" comment. Acting like he's never lost the front end of a Ducati while pushing before.
Rossi was totally at fault no question, but Stoners attitude about the whole thing was piss poor...
"no one was helping me push the bike"

Looks like we were all wrong about Dani. That surgery they did for his arm pump seems to have worked. Lasted the whole race and just toyed with Jorge the entire race until the end.
Rossi being pipped by Dovi at the end was fun to watch.
C'mon Spies, get in gear

they removed a plate from his colar bone that was pinching a nerve and causing his arm to go numb... wasn't arm pump...
that said... looks like Dani is finally learning race craft... not bolting from the get go and getting tired...
