Anyone else follow it?
this season has been :wackit: with the balance of power shifting and the MotoGP equivalent of Lewis taking his first win after his 3rd race...
it's shaping up to be a :eek3: year...

the 2 drivers leading the standings are former 250cc rivals and hate each other
Rossi's team mate is leading him in points
Rossi's switch to Bridgestones while teammate still on Michelins
Stoner having issues with the bike so far

:(

lorenzo is pretty impressive, its just even more :wackit: that it's his first season in the 800cc. 3 poles in 3 races, 3 podiums and 1 win.

makes me wonder what would happen if they were on the same tire...
the first 3 races have been the weakest tracks for Bridgestone yet Rossi has done decent so far....
wonder what'll happen in China now that he's kinda getting used to the tires...

but Lorenzo came out of no where :(

125cc > 250cc > MotoGP (800cc this year)
but there is not a set feeder series, thats the "proper" way to get into MotoGP, you can do AMA, or World Super Bike or some other top class motorcycle racing... but usually it's 125 > 250 > MotoGP
Lorenzo (Fiat Yamaha) and Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) were both 250cc Champions and raced against each other and had a rivalry since then...

Lorenzo has been absolutely sensational. Three poles in his first three races and already has a win. The kid is good and backs up his tremendous ego with being a terrific rider.

But the BBC had an interview with him on Sunday and he's actually a rather charming young man.

Certainly has more personality that Pedrosa, who has the personality of a wet sponge. Still can't win a race fighting through the field, but his win at Jerez was very impressive.

Ducati have lost their way of late. Every rider, even Stoner, appears to lack confidence.

Michelin have certainly closed the gap on Bridgestone, and probably are the better tyre at the moment. How Rossi must rue swapping at the end of last season.

Pedrosa is about as interesting as a door nail...
Lorenzo actually shows emotion if anything happens... and yeah, kid is quick, i was following during pre-season and they said he was fast, but i didn't think he was THIS fast...

According to reports, Michelin had started on their new tire before the season ended last year, but Rossi was already pissed at them and was tired of complaining and not going anywhere the he switched to bridgestone. Rossi has been vocal about lack of a competitive tire for a couple seasons now, but after Stoners complete domination last year, i think that was the last straw...

I'm not rulling Bridgestone out quite yet. Qatar with the cold temperatures don't really account to much, and 2 back to back tracks where Bridgestone aren't good at haven't helped. Last year the 2 tracks were on opposite ends of the calendar so it didn't really catch attention, but being back to back this season hasn't helped. At least they are out of the way while the season is fresh.

and yeah, wtf Ducati...

I'm a huge MotoGP nut, never miss a race and been to the Phillip Island round a few times.

Stoner will bounce back. Before the season started they were staying those 2 tracks were going to be their worst. It just looks worse then it is because they were right after each other, unlike last year.

I'm not ruling out Bridgestone out either, but it's clear Michelin have really done their homework. If a Michelin tyred bike ends up winning the title (imagine if it was Lorenzo!), Rossi will have serious egg on his face.

I'm hoping to go to Valencia later in the year. Been to the city before but will be going for the bikes as well this time.
