Not as fun as it looks

new exhaust

AUTOSPORT understands that both Renault and Mercedes GP have also tweaked their cars to make use of the system for this weekend's race in Valencia - although the latter may only trial it during Friday free practice rather than use it for the whole event.

McLaren and Williams are set to introduce their own versions of the blown diffusers for the British Grand Prix.

-Winner will be Alonso for sure this time :wiggle:
-RBR to have more cockups

Race probably wont be very interesting other than seeing how the new exhaust works out for other teams

In an interesting aside, the Valencia circuit is the toughest MFer on F1 2009 for Wii. Maybe its just because I have so few laps around it. :wiggle:

I have F1 2009 on PSP and all the tracks that I havent raced in rFactor and other sims are really hard to learn/get right. I find Valencia a bit easier than Abu Dhabi and Singapore which is very hard.

PSPs shitty controls dont help but when you know the track well its pretty easy. When you have no idea how its meant to be driven its a pain :wiggle:

No matter what system, 3 perfect laps, plus overtaking if you dont qualify, is ridiculously hard. I have 05 and 06 for psp as well. Spa is fun.

spot the exhaust

I think those gold things on the lower endplates are either pressure or temperature sensors to try and measure how effective this new exhaust system is.

i'm 99% sure those are temp sensor decals. Again though - did all teh engineers forget that routing exhaust through the rear diffuser increased downforce w/o penalty? They used to do this during the 80s!

I don't understand what the big deal is with all these teams playing 'catch-up' when they've known about this for quite awhile...

1:37.5 :mamoru: I think it might be a snoozer of a race if the RBR cars are that fast.

i don't think that's the only reason it'll be a snoozer of a race... i'm not even excited to watch it tomorrow... i'll probably have it running in the background incase something happens...

The downforce changes depending on how the engine is used - you get more downforce while you're on the throttle at high RPM, so the handling changes as well
