I agree Alonso has definitely come along way since he EARNED the name Emonso, Seb. has had a few bouts with whining, but he hasn't whined anywhere near as much as Alonso did back then...

I wonder who is more hated amongst F1 Crew, Marko Helmut or Hermann Tilke?

Hermann by far. I don't have to listen to Macro Helmet, but I have to watch shitty races on Tilke tracks while great tracks get pushed aside.

Marko. :o

For all intents and purposes, Tilke's tracks aren't really his creations, they're designed by a damn committee. And you all know how well that can go...

Marko's just a stupidass b/c he is as an idiot. You can't fix stupid.

They are his committee, hence I'd still blame him.

Anyone following this story of Marussia test driver crashing into the transporter at a test? What the fuck was the car doing near a transport at speed to begin with?

I am. I'm pretty upset by it :/ hope she's ok. At least she appears to be conscious now. They are saying it was a sticking throttle...

Also, sounds like she was coming into the pits when it stuck. Worse place for it to happen...nothing protective in the pits and lots of people around.

I read that she was going quite slow and the anti-stall kicked in which caused the crash...

I read about it, eyewitnesses say sudden acceleration. Really weird and unfortunate.

Probably left it in 1st gear, pulled the clutch, braked to a stop, forgot she was in gear, suddenly released the clutch, revs increase a lot to prevent stalling so the car takes off.

Seems like she lost her right eye, which is a career ending injury. Very very sad.

Oh damn just read that it might have been the truck's rear loading hatch that caused the accident

Also, I just realized that she might have tried downshifting to neutral after she was in 1st gear and stopped, thinking that would put the car in neutral, when the car would still be in 1st gear - you have to push the N button on the wheel to get neutral

That just seems odd, she would have gotten training in the simulator before doing a real test, especially from a team that until recently was hellbent that simulation was the way to go.

I think, with proper training, even if she didn't hit the N for neutral, she would've still grabbed the clutch paddle with her hand, no? That *should* be about as instinctive as both feet in for the amateurs like us...
