Perez may get a drive at Ferrai but their cars are not the fastest these days and he will have Alonso as a teammate...
Webber has a tough opponent in Vettel even he he stays on long enough to mount a serious attempt ...
Hulk and Di Resta will have to leave FI to do so
Maldanado and Grojean will have to learn to stay out of trouble...

Out of those I don't think you can look past Perez.

Perez has seemed to do more with less better than any of the others listed.

Perez seems to be the most talented. Everything else even (although it never is), he'll win first for sure.

In reality, it's 100% about who ends up in the right car at the right time. But I still think Perez will have the better opportunities first, as long as he doesn't stunt himself with a contracted #2 spot.

Maldanado won't move to a better car with his current performance. He has to pay for his drive.

Grosjean doesn't look to move up either, and with Kimi as a teammate he'll be hard pressed to be #1. Similar to Mark, who's been in the best cars, but obviously the #2 at his team to Vettel, who will outlast him there.

Hulk and DiResta look most like one of them will go to Mercedes, and they're not currently in a position to get a fast enough car.

Perez. He's quick, really easy on tires, keeps a cool head for his age, and has already bounced back from a really bad shunt. He also brings a ton of sponsorship with him.

Ferrari and a #2 to emo may derail his chances though. Wonder if there's a drive he can get that's a step faster than sauber but not rb/macca/ferrari, but without an entrenched #1. Williams maybe?

edit: Anyone else notice Varsha mentioning Santander extrending their sposnorship deal and the "cooling"" of ferrari's interest in perez during the same broadcast?

Perez for sure...he's so easy on his tires, drives smartly and calmly. He reminds me of Vettel before the WDCs.

REALLY? I would like to see his sources...

Spain is in so much financial trouble, even the state of Cataluna is thinking of gaining independence from Spain. So I fail to see how any of their major financial institution can really afford to continue such major sponsorship in a sport.

Also, just because Spain is in the shitter, doesn't mean a privately owned business is also in the shitter. California isn't doing too great financially, but Apple and Google seem to be doing just fine...

Yeah but Santander is not just a company, it's a financial institution. People's money are invested in it, so the financial economy has to be affected by it to a certain degree. It will be interesting to see how things develop in the next 6 months as that will determine the spanish involvement (excluding alonso) beyond 2013.

Yeah he definitely has the easiest route to a WDC now that hes in a top car and he was likely the best of the new guys to begin with.
