Cool app.

Big updates planned for Ferrari in Barcelona and the rest of the teams I guess but Ferrari has made a real step up in China. What the hell is wrong with Mclaren these past two years? inb4nohamilton

No elite driver. Every time I can recall them having success, at least one of their drivers was one of the special ones. Jens is good, but he's not at the same level as Alonso, Kimi, Hamilton, Hakkinen, Senna, Prost, Lauda, etc.

Werd

Kimi at McLaren should've won at least one, if not two titles, but the car kept breaking down. Way to fragile. Jensen at BrawnGP lucked into a great car compared to all those years under Honda rule, and it just happened to catch all the other teams off guard with the double diffuser... By the time the other teams caught up, Jensen had to great of a points lead. Jensens the guy you want on your team as a number two... Great with the fans, consistent points, good with sponsors, but he's not an elite driver compared to Lewis, Alonso or Kimi for this generation. Rosberg is like the pretty boy version of Jensen, good but not great.

We shouldn't forget that Jenson outscored hambone by 24 points over the course of their 3 years together. Lewis is certainly faster, but Jens is certainly less of a headcase.

Major JB fanboi here but I have to agree with everything said here. Also, I have a feeling LH had more DNFs than JB, which attributed to Jens scoring more than LH.

But IMO, McLaren's cars have always underperformed relative to their hype for whatever reason. McLaren should easily have another 4 champions between KR, LH, JB alone.

If Mclaren want Kimi back I'm sure Ferrari will be happy to oblige.

To be fair, we're trading Korea for Azerbaijan. Not like it's Japan or Italy here.

Drivers, used to being mobbed by fans and autograph hunters at circuits like Monza and Monaco, experienced a quieter weekend for a change.

"You just have to try to draw inspiration from the empty seats," said Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton with a wry grin.

His compatriot and former teammate, Jenson Button, spoke enthusiastically of the food, the scenery and the lack of anything to distract from driving.

But he also missed the buzz of a cheering crowd.

"It's always sad when there are no fans at a race," the 2009 world champion said. "It hasn't really got the South Koreans excited and they don't travel to see the race.

"If you have a full house it makes the atmosphere and makes it a special race.

"This place doesn't have that because no one comes to watch it."

roughly speaking, chilton (marussia) on super softs > pic (lotus) on softs = hambone (amg) on mediums.

Caterham doing an early 2000s style 2 laps of fuel + supersoft time attack lap. I'm sure everyone else was actually testing, not trying to make headlines.

It looks more like a "let's put this thing on here to show the world how absurd their logic is" part than an actually well though out part. Other pics show that it looks like they had some spare sheet metal laying around, which they tack welded to a cone and stuck on the back of the exhaust.

I've got an idea, drop the turbo completely, add 2 more cylinders, and increase the rev limits to 20k...

Hey, I've got an idea - how about no regulations on the engine and you give each team to 60 kilos of fuel per race.

Whoa, 60 kilos isn't much, I say keep the current fuel limit, but not the BS flow rate though...

60kg is about 21.1gal of gasoline. The cars would need to average about 10mpg. My guess is they would need to up the ERS capacity to meet that. Definitely not impossible though.

Rossi getting up to speed is making it great as well. Having MM and Rossi on the podium and it becomes Bro-togp, 2 fast as fuck guys just having fun and dicing it up not afraid to stuff it in. Unlike the Pedro's/Lorenzo/Stoner years where it was a gentlemans agreement type pass and basically a time trial. As impressive as it was, it was rather boring, and if anyone made any mistake or forced pass, the it was a bitch session about safety and how unsportsman like it was.

To keep this F1 related, Nico gave the trophy to 3rd place for this weeks LeMans MotoGP race.
