Brawn departs from Mercedes. Way to drop off your technical director just when things are going well.

Get ready for FU nose cones in '14.

If Lotus still had any fans they probably just lost them with the Maldonado signing.

Grosjean/Maldonado pairing? Next year's Lotus should be painted in safety orange, and their helmets should have CG symbols on the side.

How else were they supposed to pay Kimi for all the points that he earned this year? they owe him roughly $25M, and Pastor is bringing $30M... Lotus probably asked him to sit out the last few races so they don't have to pay him more

Get hype

I see what they did there. Next week Mercedes will have a funny sounding SLS and McLaren will be testing a strange looking P1 with extra cooling.

He won't go to McLaren; he didn't like how the Japanese worked when he was at Honda before Brawn...Williams would actually be awesome. I'd like to see that team move up with Bottas and the veteren Massa.

Already enjoying the silly season more than the 2nd half of 2013.

More donuts from everyone from here on out? :x:

Sebastian Vettel has revealed that he spoke to FIA president Jean Todt to clear up why he was punished for performing donuts after the Indian Grand Prix.
The German was handed a reprimand, and his Red Bull team fined €25,000, after Vettel thrilled the crowds with a series of donuts on the start-finish straight in India immediately after clinching his fourth Formula 1 title.
Unhappy at the punishment, Vettel decided to take the matter up with Todt - who made it clear that the fine was for not returning to parc ferme rather than performing the donuts.
Todt clarified that as long as Vettel made sure to get his car back to parc ferme in the future he would not be punished for such exuberant displays again.

"Obviously the breach in the rule was not for doing the donuts; it was for not bringing the car back to parc ferme," said Vettel.

I can see it happening on an engine at the end of its life-cycle...it would be pie in the face of a driver who destroys a motor that is due for another race though. I've also read that in the past, they didn't do donuts because they need as much gas as possible on the car for the weight check and fuel sample. Remember, they try to run the car down to the very minimum weight limit, I doubt its in the teams best interest to add an extra bit of gas so that drivers can do celebratory donuts...:hs:

Grand Prix of NJ delayed again. I really have doubts that this event will ever happen.

would have likely been a boring race anyways. less street circuits, more Spa-like tracks w/ elevation change.

He already said he was taking 14 off, and would decide on what is future holds next summer.

IMO it lines up well with McLaren's goals and plans. Even with Honda as an engine works partner, McLaren will still be a 'traditional' racing team as they're not giving the place over to the Japanese. It makes the most sense to go there, as Brawn likes underperforming teams with solid resources.... not that I think/hope McLaren will continue to underperform like this season.

Honestly, I don't think Williams could scrape together the scratch to pay a guy like Ross anymore. :hs:

Austin race moved to Nov 2nd.

That means that Friday before is Halloween. In Austin. With all the silly hot girls. And it'll very likely still be warm.

That this is going to be AWESOME.

Also, it seems that all the lodgings haven't caught on to the date change, so all the places to stay are still silly cheap.

We will never have truly great tracks again because of FIA.
