And.... how I think it could have been prevented in the first place.

Wouldn't you set the heave spring bump stop to only be active in vmax (i.e. straights)? Or have a nonlinear bump stop such that you're only on the fully solid stuff near vmax? I dunno how bad the porpoising effect is mid corner but shots I've seen are all on the straights

That's indeed the idea, but even so I expect the suspension travel for cutting curbs to be severe enough to start engaging the heave spring bump stop.

Guess I didn't make that sufficiently clear in the video

I feel like we should have a meetup since Shi is in Cali now!

Crazy silly season...one of the wildest in awhile.  Literally took a war to pull Nikita out of a drive.

Finally we'll have a true measure of how well Mick is doing compared to a legitimate F1-caliber driver. That being said, if history is anything to go by it's year two so could be a good season for Mick.

:eek2:

I just hope it doesn't get banned due to politicking by less clever teams.

I kinda hope they find out it's slow because I'm not ready for sidepodless F1 designs, lol.

The complaints so far have been more about the rear view mirror mount wings.

Yah saw that as well.  Love how much they're sandbagging and trying to tell everyone they're slow...like we havne't seen this before lol.

Sounds like the new cars are a handful - hope to see unique driving styles make a come back and matter again.

Anyone have 3/4 RedBull powered cars failing, Mercedes powered cars on the bottom of the results, Haas P5 and a ferrari 1-2 on their bingo cards?

Wow, what a crazy first race...a lot to digest there!

Looks like cars can follow so much closer now but what a crazy result.  Also, McLaren and AMR being the new HAAS is painful to see...

I wonder if MB following down the path of the podless design is the correct development branch.

Most excited I've been since the start of the Merc domination.

Jesus, is that Williams a good looking car under the lights.
