I'm easy either way. Still on OT and will continue to post / contribute. Member of NN as well but after initial excitement the place is not that busy.

Will also post here if the all the OTF1 Crew come here though.

I have no problem paying for a forum -- and have done so in the past when OT provided me with great pleasure. But the forums suck now, and I'm not willing to pay for OT just for 1 thread.

i dont think anybody is in a position where they can't afford a sub, at least that's my understanding of the situation. if you can't afford a sub then you should probably spend that time to get a job anyways. however i don't want to support a site where the mods are nazis (speaking of which, max mosley should send his resume in, when he gets the axe from the FIA), every thread gets trolled and you have toolsheds like alcky running around getting all pissy because we are trying to keep f1 crew intact.

personally i would say i was only still on OT because of F1 crew, otherwise i probably would have stopped visiting in '06. plus shiyan has done an incredible job on getting this set up to the way that accomodates all of the guys here. if the '02s get grandfathered in and someone wants to use my OT username then fine, i'll let someone use it.. i'm done with OT though.

I am in the same boat - I am an early 02 and was around on OT in 01...I don't like the way things are shaping up...OT was fun to lurk, but not so fun to pay a yearly fee for it. I like this format better - and I can find the news better. The F1 Crew is better than even the JeepCrew of old....and I ran that site for 2+ years.

Plus I have like 2 friends here in CLT that I discuss F1 with, not many people in North Carolina that know F1...this is NASCAR country.

actually to be fair, not all mods are nazis. seikita (sp?) was cool as hell to move us to powersports/motorsports subforum. glen is just a tool in general.

What bothered me about the Bar versus Motorsports forum issue is that Alky seemed not to care about F1 Crew as a community. Our sense of togetherness as a crew outweighs by far, at least for me, the loyalty I have to OT as a whole.

Glen's statement about most of us having subscriptions was correct. To me that's even more of a reason to let the thread reside in the Motorsports forum. If most of us already are paying, why should the mods care if a few people are viewing the thread without a subscription?

For the sake of full disclosure, I'm still bitter at Glen for posting a thread saying "Post these names for all the name-search whores", and then Tank banning me for it. But I guess a bandwagon that a mod starts is still a bandwagon.

Being in UK, the yearly sub only costs £12 which is cheap as chips really and I have no real problem paying it.

However, if the F1 community is upping sticks and moving, I'll move here but will continue on OT to post with other people as well.

I see no reason why there has to be a mass exodus. Unless you only went onto OT to speak about F1, then I agree with not paying for a sub.

towards the end i was basically only going to ot for the f1 crew thread.

ot is not a good enough product for me to want to pay.

there are plenty of free places that dont have any of the sub/av brainwashing.

I don't think the Admin / Mods / Owners have a fucking clue what they want from that website.

But forcing people to pay to post on the Offtopic forum is driving people away. And the number of posts / threads has dropped significantly since it was introduced. Although I do think that has a lot to do with the shitty posts / members going as well.
