the canadian consulate is giving me the runaround and taking their sweet time at it as well, so i'm going to go to detroit in 2 weeks for the Red Bull Air Race so while i'm there i can try crossing the border and just see what happens. if that fails then maybe i'll be taking the canoe across the border

whats up everybody? I was wondering where the hell all the OT-F1 crew went, lol.

Anyway, on a whim last year I drove from Washington DC to Montreal for the GP. I got Saturday and Sunday tickets at the track, and they were pricey, but soooo worth it. I sat right across from the Macca and Ferrari pits.

Anyway, I'm pretty close to convincing myself to do the same thing this year. Except I would by my ticket/tickets on stubhub rather than at the gate! haha.

For those who haven't been, Montreal is an awesome town to spend a race weekend in. Food is cheap and plentiful, Crescent street is amazing! So many hot women, live music, random shit. It's loud, full of people and lots of drinking.

Anyway, I have food, gas, tickets covered. But my options for finding a place to stay and keep my car (I got towed from a legit parking spot just because I had USA/Virginia plates, I think). Any ideas? Didn't OTF1 have a hotel deal going on or something? :crossesfingers:

i'll be setting out around 7:00pm on thursday here in cleveland which means i should be there around 8:00am if i have a nap somewhere. i won't be able to check in and park the car at the hotel til 3:00pm i assume so i'll have the car in the city somewhere. if anyone needs to be picked up from the airport just let me know. if people are around i guess we can probably be at the track around 9 or 10, but i won't have my tickets til shiyan arrives. as far as i remember, shiyan, mads, and maybe TimzSI will be in my room so you guys should try and stay in touch. i need to look into the cell phone thing but i'm pretty sure my phone will work there, so presuming that, my number is 216-509-5171. name is John. i ordered a laptop so i should have it and be in touch that way if the phone doesn't work.

Tom, are you gonna be in town? i have your number from years ago. 214....? anyone know if OPTIMO will be there? i haven't talked to him about it yet. we should all exchange info so we can get in touch.

im picking shi up on the thursday, around 6-8 pm.. if things go well we should head out and be in montreal by 5-6am.
Im not sure if you or shiyan have the room booked but i think we can sleep in the car if worst comes to worst.
