Thinking about stopping the dvr recordings...

I'm not sure F1 could survive another year of RBR domination in '14. Bernie would have to find rules to sandbag Vettel/Newey to prevent losses to his empire.

what, you mean Vettel winning a few races by nearly 30 seconds isn't exciting? That would mean that to compete head to head with Vettel/RBR, some team and driver would need to find .5 seconds per lap average to even challenge for the win... and honestly, I don't even think Vettel is going maximum, he's probably got some in reserve still....

Also, news from this weekend, Kimi hasn't been paid all year... he's owed somewhere near $15M... :eek3:

Do they mention the timeframe? I can't believe kimi would still be able to negotiate $15m/year in this day and age and after getting sacked in 2010.

Could be performance bonus based on points and standings. His actual salary is probably a lot lower.
Maybe lotus didnt expect him to be 2nd/3rd in points ?

Kimi Raikkonen seems to be a relative bargain for Lotus on only €3 million a year (€2 million less than the figure quoted in 2012), although it is rumoured his pot is boosted substantially according to how he performs and how many points he scores.

According to crash.

I also agree that it's likely Vettel hasn't show his 100% except for qualifying and maybe a handful of laps during race day, whereas every other driver has pretty much had to drive to the absolute limit just to see him storm off either way. I think if everyone was pushing equally hard, Vettel and his -1.5s a lap could probably lap the rest of the field during a race.

How did Lotus expect to keep Kimi if they weren't paying him all year? I didn't know they were doing so bad.. :hs...and correction, it's Newey and RBR that's storming at the front. Without Newey, you'd see Vettel struggling against another driver + Newey car to keep up.

Mark Webber also drives a Newey car, built to Fisher Price standards apparently.

According to BBC Sport, Raikkonen's salary is eight million euros, or $10.8 million as of this writing, plus 50,000 euros ($67,515) per point, meaning he's been shorted 17.5 million euro ($23.6 million) this season.

Fuuuuuu...

I'd be livid and not looking to drive the last GPs too. Walking into Boullier's office like, "bitch better have my money!"

Just got marginally worse, his quali result just got thrown out due to failing the floor deflection scrutineering.

More effective to just build a car that has a remote kill switch to bring out a SC for the benefit of Grosjean. Afterall, it's not like Renault haven't got the experience to pull it off. :o

Saw that. Team is saying that it broke going over the kerbing.

Also saw that Hambone broke a rear wishbone in Q3, and the team is looking to fix it in parc ferme.

for 2 turns... and he's gone...
another 30+ second win by Vettel... now I'm just curious as to how many records he can break this season with 2 races to go...

It's also shocking there was ever any hope of signing kimi...I guess that was just posturing to try and secure a sponsor.

Saw vettel take the lead at the start and then zoned out of the race from there.. Alas, that is the current state of F1. :(

Come on 2014, hurry the fuck up.

I hate how good Vettel is because he's making it no fun to watch F1, but I love that he's a real character... it's a love / hate relationship with this guy!

Unfortunately the 2 hours of hate each race weekend does not make up for the 15 seconds when he is entertaining. It is not his fault in any way, but he and Newey have made watching F1 pretty dull.

As for the guys on NBCSN saying how its not like anybody was complaining about McLaren winning 15 of 16 races in 1988? No, it is not the same. At least in 1988 there was a constantly close battle between two drivers for a win at each race, even if they were in the same team. Webber finishing 30 seconds behind Vettel every weekend is nowhere close to the same excitement as Prost and Senna going wheel to wheel every weekend. :squint:

Agreed on the first paragraph. And a better comparison would be to say the MS dominance in the early 2000s.
