Hi guys...I forget this forum was here!

I had to move hosts once again - finally to a host that supports older versions of PHP (paid service to keep support so no more PHP upgrade surprises)

At the same time managed to somehow find the updated version of this dark skin back and got it working with this version of IPB after modding a little code :nikko:

Welcome back!  How are things?

Thanks man!  Pretty good, still a photographer which is wild considering how 2020 went, lol.

Also still watching LH crush this championship still...which is insane to see his consistency over the years.  I'm amazed at the recoveries he has been doing even if he doesn't have the raw pace.

It's indeed amazing that LH is having the best start to a campaign despite not having a huge car advantage. He's showing why he's been so successful.

It's probably a bit of Max overdelivering in the difficult to drive RB than Merc being equal/slower. I do think that the Merc still has a performance advantage, but Lewis wouldn't have been able to pull off that risky 2nd stop strategy and come out ahead if Perez was closer up on the lead pack. If all is even then I think it will be close between the two but when it's two against one then I think Merc will always have these strategic aces at their disposal to make up for days when their hardware isn't outright dominant.

Too bad he couldn't pull out the W, definitely a morale booster for him.

He was the guest on beyond the grid podcast last week. Guy genuinely sounds like he's realized how to be happy after the near brush with death

Maybe Seb needs that to get his speed back.  He has never recovered from losing the lead, in Germany, in the rain.

Cue that ancient *Nordschliefe at night, in the rain, track day video* vibes

Crazy if true...most drivers remove their hands as far as I know as well.

I appreciated how he spoke about the Indycar drivers vs F1 drivers, how they are a more friendly and welcoming bunch.

As a fan attending races, the openness of Indycar was always welcome compared to other global Motorsport events Ive been to. And now having attended some races with open access to the behind the scenes, it really is very family friendly, seeing other racers come back from different levels just to chat and talk about stuff.

F1 is a bit too closed. I always liked the Indy event because they were forced to get on the stage and interact with the fans during the weekend. Never saw that sort of involvement at Sepang or Monza.

yeah, might be a Mercedes thing? I feel like I’ve heard many stories of wrists and thumbs being broken because the driver kept holding the steering wheel in a shunt.

truck drivers too.  I remember talking to an old timer one day who was saying they don't even buckle their seatbelts.  Stories of truckers getting their wrists broken in a jackknife and then unable to get out of the burning cab because they were strapped in.

I wonder if new F1 that isn't Bernie owned is more open...I haven't been since Liberty took over but definitely remember how closed off to fans it felt as a spectator.  Very raised pinky kind of affair.

And we have a season. Trivia question that I don't know the answer to - when was the last time HAM wasn't leading after round 5?  2013 or 2016?

Monaco is a one-off...I get the feeling MB will take the lead next round again.  But you can see the strategy/driver cracks when your car speed isn't outright dominant.

But it's great to see a new guy leading the pack, even if it has to be Max...

Would probably have to be 2016 when Rosberg won :dunno:

It's been interesting looking at the videos of the 3 instances where an "incident" sealed pole. It seems clear that Leclerc made a mistake, but I'm not sure why Rosberg wasn't penalized.
