It might be, that Renault could have a case against the Pink Panthers based on the brake ducts:

They do look VERY similar on the outside, which could be from picture etc... but if they look the same internally that's where they will be caught.  Will be interesting to see how they end up...

Copying/replicating from photos has been around since forever and every single team up and down the paddock is looking at high res photos of the competition to try and copy/replicate from faster cars.  However if they are copying from the source CAD files then that is definitely Stephney-gate worthy.

 

The lower inlet of the front brake duct is smaller on the RP20.  Vortex generators could have easily been copied visually from photos.  I really don't expect them to be in trouble here. Honestly what was stopping Williams from copying the concept too (except maybe pride) since they could also build a W10 clone and boost themselves up from rear of the pack to possibly mid-pack?  I'd guess everyone copies where applicable and uses it as an initial point to their optimization procedure.  RP just decided to say fuck it and spend their optimization cycles working on the '21 car instead.

So Hulkenberg might be replacing Perez for the 2 Silverstone races due to Perez's positive Covid test. Hopefully he does a good job and finds a way back to F1.

Also, I think Jimmie Johnson from NASCAR tested positive as well, but then as cleared a few weeks later... so hopefully the same will happen to Perez...

Most likely higher minimum pressures will be mandated, and I think the teams will probably be more cautious themselves.
