can be anything and we can look back at the end and laugh at how wrong we were
*Lotus will be best of the new teams, USF1 if they make it will be the worst
*Kobayashi will get a podium before the end of the year
*Jens will find that smooth driving is a poor substitute for raw speed
*The McLaren isnt a world beater like everyone predicts
*Ferrari back with a vengeance
*Title fight between Fred/Hambo/Skittle with the latter dropping out towards the end as RBR cant keep up in development.
*Schumacher comeback lasts only one year
*No refueling somehow makes races exciting and not processional
*At least one of the new teams is up for sale by the end
*vietlol pff1 2010 champ
*There will be another big scandal (ok this one is easy)

my guesses:
• title contenders will be between Alonso and Shumi
• lewis, vettel, massa, will put up a charge, but won't be able to keep up, will be keeping shumi & alonso on their feet though
• Virgin will be the surprise new team, USF1 will be the worst
• Briatore will come back with a vengence somehow
• Ferrari will come back more determined than ever after the past 2 seasons
• Jenson will be fightig for position 7-9 by the end of the year in ranking

WCC Title contenders will be that of the above shoes, with Failrari coming out on top if Massur makes a good comeback.
Of the new teams (not counting Mercedes) hell I don't know who will do what...

Macca comes back big, Lewis wins WDC, Button proves to be a very adequate #2.
English media nut swinging drives me fucking nuts all season.
Ferrari comes back, but not only enough to compete with Schumi and Die Deutsche Rennsportmannschaft for 2nd.
RBR proves to be a flash in the pan, but Vettel still maximizes the machinery for a couple wins ()
Campos and USF1 never make it to Bahrain, Bruno Senns ends up owning a gokart track 30 minutes outside of Sao Paolo
What I hope will happen:
Macca falls flat on their face with infighting and obvious Lewis favoritism
Schumi and Emo pick up where they left off in '06, battling all season with Vettel in the mix this time for added awesomeness
Nick and Koby right the ship that is Sauber
USF1 does ok

I hope Newey gives Vettel a somewhat reliable car...Vettel/Hamilton/Alonso will be fighting for it. I hope Button does well just because I have to give the boy props for what he's doing. Going into Hamilton's team and trying to show up Hamilton. Schumi may or may not be in that mix. He's a dark horse in my book.
I don't think USF1 will make the grid. I hope Sauber's car is fast b/c I want Kobayashi to do awesome! The man put in an awesome drive and I hope he continues to do so.

The Future
So, that was 2009. What’s in store for 2010?
Well, we’re almost certain to get another cost-cutting initiative. If it’s anything like the last couple, it will be massively expensive to implement, ultimately ineffectual and end up being thrown in the spare room with the pilates ball and pasta maker. Lewis Hamilton will continue to express himself like a polite young man from the 1950s. Gee, Gosh and Darn will feature prominently. The four new teams – Lotus F1, US F1, Manor Grand Prix and Campos F1 – will generate massive attention at the first race, then trundle around at the back never to be heard from again. Bernie Ecclestone will finally announce a date for the Indian Grand Prix. He may also add dates for races in Russia, South Africa and Narnia while he’s at it. (He’ll probably also point out that Genghis Khan was very kind to his mother.) Drivers will continue to lie about the sheer, unrelenting tedium of driving in Monaco. A massive police presence will be conspicuous on the streets around Brazil’s Interlagos circuit… the day after half the paddock gets robbed at gunpoint (the track is right next to a gaggle of favelas). Organisers will continue to insist everything is going according to plan and Donington Park will be ready to host the British Grand Prix – meanwhile they’ll also be rearranging the deckchairs and asking the brass band to strike up Abide With Me. New Ferrari driver, the notoriously fractious Fernando Alonso, will finally achieve his life ambition and start a fight in an empty room. The trend of younger and younger drivers will reach its natural conclusion when their union, the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association, demands Barney the Dinosaur wallpaper, the right to wear Heelys in qualifying and a bigger run-off at Monza’s Variante della Roggia. They won’t get the run-off. The Singapore Hotel Association will buy ALBERT II, the BMW supercomputer, to better calculate the chances of their room charges tearing a hole in the fabric of reality. They will also use it to play Minesweeper. Kimi Räikkönen will continue to imbibe, rather than spray, his champagne. He will also hibernate from April until the August Bank Holiday, then briefly wake up, win in Belgium, say very little in the press conference and prepare for another little nap. The spectre of Ron Dennis will be used to frighten young mechanics into behaving themselves and making sure everything is tidy. A celebrity girlfriend will mysteriously appear in the paddock. Just as mysteriously she will disappear again, shortly after her movie/album/range of exciting new fragrances is released. Despite being pointedly told he’s live on the BBC, Sebastian Vettel will be unable to resist mentioning his balls. One of the teams will have a revolutionary aerodynamic device in Bahrain. All the other teams will question its legality while furiously working to copy it. Robert Kubica will look more and more like a slightly bewildered owl.

Good time for this thread, the teams/drivers are decided and settled for the most part but we havent yet seen the new cars/tests so this will be our gut feeling/educated guess. OK GO!
can be anything and we can look back at the end and laugh at how wrong we were
*Lotus will be best of the new teams, USF1 if they make it will be the worst - check
*Kobayashi will get a podium before the end of the year - balls
*Jens will find that smooth driving is a poor substitute for raw speed - check
*The McLaren isnt a world beater like everyone predicts - check
*Ferrari back with a vengeance - check
*Title fight between Fred/Hambo/Skittle with the latter dropping out towards the end as RBR cant keep up in development. - well I got the first part right
*Schumacher comeback lasts only one year - well maybe not but he has been pretty terrible
*No refueling somehow makes races exciting and not processional - there has certainly been more racing this year, but no refueling has made passing harder on some tracks
*At least one of the new teams is up for sale by the end - we will see
*vietlol pff1 2010 champ - well 3rd is ok
*There will be another big scandal (ok this one is easy) - this one really was easy, there have been several but one that stands out is obviously team orders in Germany

It's like I'm some kind of Nostradamus, how did everyone else go?

Everyone thinks Schumi is going to be back, and at the top of his game. The dude hasn't raced in F1 for 3 years, no way is he going to be at the top outta nowhere.
I hope Newey gives Vettel a somewhat reliable car...Vettel/Hamilton/Alonso will be fighting for it. I hope Button does well just because I have to give the boy props for what he's doing. I got everything right except I didn't predict Webbah being in the mix. Damn, I'm good!

WDC Title contenders will be Emotardo, The Chin, Hambone and Skittle, with Skittle coming out on top. Button will be lucky to finish in the top 5...

Of the new teams (not counting Mercedes) hell I don't know who will do what...
I'd say my WDC picks were pretty damn close other than The Chin, and Button barely made top 5...

What I think will happen (because I am a pessimist):
Macca comes back big, Lewis wins WDC, Button proves to be a very adequate #2. 1/2 right
English media nut swinging drives me fucking nuts all season. 100%
Ferrari comes back, but not only enough to compete with Schumi and Die Deutsche Rennsportmannschaft for 2nd. lol, nope
RBR proves to be a flash in the pan, but Vettel still maximizes the machinery for a couple wins () nope
Campos and USF1 never make it to Bahrain, Bruno Senns ends up owning a gokart track 30 minutes outside of Sao Paolo 1/2 right, I bet the second half becomes reality in 2011
