I'm going to make a bigger effort this year to follow MotoGP. Especially since Ben Spies is joined up with Collin Edwards. Team Texas represent! :eek3:

Who's going to be in the championship this year? I think it's going to be a tight race between Lorenzo, Rossi and Stoner if he doesn't get "sick". Hayden will mix it up in there too, but Stoner when he came back last year just dominated. But I wouldn't be surprised if he came down with sandy vaginairitis again :x:

But my weight is always going to be behind Rossi. He's just such a cool champion, lol.

Yeah, Rossi is the man. I prefer to see homeboys win though. The '06 season was awesome with Hayden winning the championship. I don't count him out, but he has degressively become less of a contender.

I think Stoner is the only guy capable of getting the most out of that aggressive mapping the Ducati engine seems to have. This sentiment was confirmed by some colleagues who do R&D for the Ducati MotoGP team, and they suggest that the goal this year is to attempt to make the bike more 'rideable' so the teams hopes for a manufacturers title don't ride on one guy's performance.

they are running big bang engine this year (ala Yamaha) instead of their normal screamer engine which basically only a handfull of riders have been able to ride...

I'll say the top 4 guys remain, and toss in Ben every once and a while to mix it up...
but honestly, I think it's going to come down to another 2008 season where it was Rossi vs Stoner...

Lorenzo is out of testing for the rest of the tests and won't have access to Rossi's data/setup
Pedrosa is a front runner with the big boys, but not consistant enough and is basically made of glass
Stoner is the only one that can put up a fight day in and day out... until he gets sick
Rossi is just too consistant...

I really like Lorenzo, but he has really dicked him self up with the recent injury. Love the americans, i hope spies and hayden can get some wins, but dont see either attacking the championship. I hope Pedrosa sucks, i cant stand him.

I think it's going to be a 2 horse race - Rossi & Stoner. I really wonder if Stoner can stand up to the mental pressure though...

What does the practice sheets say? Who's leading testing?

Rossi quickest at Sepang today!

I think it's going to be a stoner vs Rossi battle at the end - too bad about Lorenzo with his broken hand :-/

Who's coming back/going to Indy this year? 8/27-8/29. I'd like to get the same area seats but up in the 'penthouse' section this time..

Rossi has topped all the tests so far :) And Spies & Colins are right on Stoner's toes with 3rd and 4th at Qatar. Texan pride :hs: lol

Either Rossi has been putting in quali laps hardcore, or that Yamaha has really bloomed. But seeing the Tech3 team so high on the charts so far makes me believe they've really got something in the tank.

I have what motogp.com calls "near live timing" up all day yesterday and today I have it up again...
Spies is seriously the shocker for me, don't get me wrong, i knew he was quick, but didn't think he'd be giving the top 4 "aliens" a run for their money so soon, all the other rookies are on the bottom of the time sheets, Spies... top 3 even leading at one point...

and wtf is up with the Hondas? Ohlin suspension not working on their new bikes?

Honda will catch up some, Dani had to get that screw removed and Dovi hasn't gotten as much testing time as he needs (though Dovi was never really expected to challenge Rossi/Lorenzo/Stoner)

Seriously, Spies is doing a HELLUVA job. I wouldn't doubt he nabs a factory ride ASAP...he'd be in perfect posistion to take Rossi's gig if Rossi doesn't renew with Yamaha next year. And we all know how much he dislikes being on a team with Lorenzo...

The Repsol Honda rider took nearly a second off his time from Thursday to get within a couple of hundredths of Valentino Rossi.....Dovizioso and LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet are the only two riders who seem to be getting along with the new Ohlins suspension which graces the RC212V, the other riders all complaining of a lack of feeling from the rear.
