They used to run champ car there, and Toyota F1 actually brought a car there a few years back to break the track record. So for sure, F1 cars could totally run there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Laguna Seca is in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do or fancy to show for it, thus the Circus Bus driven by Bernie refuses to go there...that's what I remembered.

Laguna is about a 10 minute drive to the coast, where popular places like Monterey, Salinas, and Santa Cruz are quiet local... but it really is a dirt pit hole inthe ground type of track. I would think there is more to do at Laguna then tracks in the middle east to be quiet honest...

i think if anything, Laguna is too short of a track? If I remember correctly, it's the shortest track on the MotoGP calendar...

they still run ALMS there, so you can fit a lot of cars...

just looking up a couple things...
the Aragon circuit which has that lovely 3d elevation map has only 1/2 the elevation change that Laguna Seca has...
Aragon - 50m change
Laguna - 91m change

also, track length, Laguna is barely longer than Monaco...

Stoner has pole  With Rossi being just a shade over .3 secs...And Spies isn't the top rookie either in qualifying...

Tomorrow is going to be a GOOD race! :wiggle:

Rossi is losing time in the 4th sector... he was up in the first 3 but lost pole on the 4th...
when they broke down the top 3 riders in each sector, rossi was right there with stoner till the 4th, then he wasn't even in the top 3 anymore...

The fight for 3rd place was AWESOME! :wiggle: Pedobear looks like he'll be gone at the end of the season if he gets outperformed like that again by his team-mate. Spies making an AWESOME first race too

I didn't get a good view of Stoner going down. But I'm not too sad, lol.

don't think anyone did. eurosport feed was exactly like the speed, no replays or anything...
couple of notes from my end...

Rossi had the slowest bike out of everyone and still ran out of fuel on the cool down lap, wonder what was wrong with his setup
honda passing a ducati on the straights? when's the last time you heard that one...
spies had a great start, if you took everyone's top 5 laps, Spies was the fastest rider out there
wtf Stoner? last race he crashed on the warm up, this race, 5/6 laps in?

MotoGP in HD is :wiggle:, i still prefer the Eurosport feed though, the commentary and race coverage > speed

Damn, Lorenzo was fucking awesome! He reeled in the front 2 like they were nothing...Rossi said his shoulder was still bugging him so hopefully he'll be back strong. Too bad for Pedrosa, I hope he had a teddy bear to comfort him or something after losing 1st like that :mamoru:

And the jump in the lake was :bowrofl:

Lorenzo and Tiny Tim def. touched on that last lap. Can't believe the little guy is 49kg (108lbs)

 ride by Lorenzo though, he seems to be able to just throw down stunning laptimes in the last 10 laps so far.

You know, I ruined this race for myself when I opened up autosport in the morning... :wtc: But it was still epic. I was just sitting there going "WTF. Did Rossi & Dani wreck or something, there's no way Lorenzo is going to catch the front two..."

Anyone take note that Hayden beat Stoner? He might win a race this year! Nathan told me the Moto2 race was good too, so I will try to watch that one as well. I really hope I can make enough side cash to make it to Indy this year...I want a rematch

The last 3 laps made up for the fact that the rest of the race was boring as shit. I nearly fell asleep a couple of times. Lorenzo outta nowhere...

BRING IT! :bigthumb:

But seriously though, if you want to do the trip cheap then just crash at my place instead of spending $ on a hotel in Indy. We're close enough to make the drive to and from the track both days.
