I think the problem with the merc wing isnt merc itself but having to spend money copying it.

They need to cancel Bahrain again for sure.

2 races in, and I just realized there was no season thread, lol.

Anyways, I came to post why I hate SPEED so much...they put all the production into NASCAR but when it comes to F1, this was their season intro...

This is why I've stopped paying for cable TV.

HOLY SHIT :bowrofl:

Funny mostly because the team making the most noise, red Bull, basically said "tough shit, get to copying" when they had their blown diffusers and flexi wings.

Now that there's some shit they missed, they're losing their minds. Not surprising though, IIRC they were one of the teams that was furious about missing the double diffuser that Brawn and a couple others had as well.

Speaking of RBR whining: They sent their manager to 'have a talk' with Marussa and HRT about getting out of Seb's way whenever he's within a 1 mile radius :mamoru:

Maybe it's an age thing? 24 or 25 year old famous millionaire really doesn't lend itself towards sportsmanship, humbleness, and humility.

He needs a couple years driving shit cars with no chance to realize what he has. Even his STR days were right as that team moved itself up the grid, with the full Newey design update with the Ferrari motor making 30 more HP than the big team's Renault engines.

Also, get rid of Mr Helmet.

Wo. People dying in Bahrain protests.

They need to cancel this year's race.

So, Lotus isn't sponsoring Lotus anymore, but Lotus remains committed to being Lotus.

The whole Lotus thing has been a joke since last year and now its just sad. They fought so hard with Fernandes over who was the most Lotus and now neither of them are (and never were).

Only in F1.

I still really enjoy Ross Brawn's responses to people who bitch about his teams. First he shuts down their argument, then brings up their hypocrisy in whatever rule they're breaking (in this case, RBR's RRA 'discrepancies').

But Brawn has dismissed such claims – and reckons that as well as the DRS system being cheap to create, he says major outfits will not face any more expenditure because they are already limited in spending due to F1's Resource Restriction Agreement.

"The system is actually very cheap," explained Brawn on Thursday. "It is a very simple cheap system, but not so easy to implement if you haven't integrated it into your car. This is perhaps where some of the frustration of some of our opponents [is coming from].

"People talk about the huge cost, but there isn't really a huge cost. You all know that there are a couple of carbon pipes running down the car, and the man on the street will tell you that they cost a few thousands pounds – they are not millions of pounds.

"The benefit we have gained is because we have thought about it and designed it into our car, and that is not so easy for people who have not go it – and that is why some of the opposition is so fierce. It is the recognition that it is quite a difficult thing to do if you haven't designed it from the beginning. That is the nature of F1."

Speaking about the RRA situation, he said: "When people make statements about having to spend lots of money copying it, it is intriguing how they can spend all that money – because under the RRA agreement I would feel that most of the top teams are working to their budget.

Kubica is back in a rally car

From AxisOfOversteer:

The comeback continues with our sources telling Axis that Robert has also been logging a lot of GP2 simulator time and handily beating current drivers times. An F1 test in 2012 is still in the cards though it is possible Kubica might return to WRC rather than single seaters. Well, a little rally car seems to have done Kimi a lot of good.
