Damn, what an awesome race by Maldonado! If Kimi had pitted 1 lap sooner he would have had 2nd for sure... :(
At least he made the last part of the race interesting, the middle was a bit boring...

Here's what I think...

Either the Ferrari has come back on form or Alonso brings more than .6s to the car! They're not even trying to hide their disappointment in Massa anymore. He's going to be out of there...by the end of the year, if not before.

Great race by Maldo, totally didn't expect him to win. That was a complicated race too, having to save tires while keeping Alonso behind him.

That circuit is still boring tho. Middle part almost put me to sleep...

So I don't understand why one car hasn't dominated this season yet, and why there isn't any stability...and why the car's performance is so on the bubble? Stability in the rules I guess have allowed some of the other teams catch up...but RB & McLaren that far back? Pretty great season for F1.

It's like pot luck right now, if a car is in the sweet spot for the tires then it is quite a bit faster. A bit outside that range and then a top driver (Alonso/Vettel/Hamilton) can make up for some of that, but it's basically the car on the perfect setup will shine.

Well I wasnt expecting that. Kimi needs to find about 4 seconds over a race to get the win. That's twice now he's been right there. Maybe Monaco :x:

Alonso is ringing that Ferrari for all it's worth. Fucking lapping massa too
Wtf with shummi ass packing senna. He's trying to screw every Brazilian he races against :p

Oh and thanks speed for skipping the interviews so I can watch England league soccer

I'm convinced the fire was due to Spanish terrorists/race stewards that were pissed Failonso lost.

Because we all know the speed fan base hates European motorsports. But euro soccer? Fuck yeah.

Did not understand why I couldn't hear Frankencraterface's win interview and instead had 30mins of no goals.

Fucking FOX...

Also, no doubt that Hamilton would have won the race if he started on pole.

Felipe needs to start working on his resume, because it doesn't seem like he's going to be able to get out of this current funk. Still no idea how he was P11 before the first round of pit stops but afterwards was P17.

Q. And what did you tell the Finnish viewers just now?

KR: It's Mothers' Day in Finland.

Q. So Happy Mothers' Day?

KR: Yeah. I had nothing else to say to Finnish viewers.

It was some sort of soccer showing across all of Fox's sports channels. I don't get it either.

As far as soccer, weird idea for fox to use all of their sports stations to air it, but:

Survival Sunday is a term used to refer to final day coverage of the Premier League in England. The phrase is primarily used by Sky Sports,[1] when relegation places are still to be decided, and is used on all the adverts for the end of season football coverage. The phrase has since been used by other media to refer to the final matches

So even the rubbish matches with horrible teams have massive significance. Lame we missed out on interviews, but probably a pretty cool day if you're into premier league.

Whoa. Maybe the tire is an old tire they put on and the markings came off? Anyways he was knocked out of the race so...I guess it's a moot point.

@ Kimi

I don't believe two teams were dumb enough to put the wrong tyres on in the same race, probably just some pirelli quality with no markings. I mean I don't see the white markings either in the williams shot and the wheel is locked.

edit: I saw two because I saw a shot of STR with the same tyres.

i am curious to know how big of a set back the fire will be to Williams. I imagine most data is stored in multiple places but it seems in most teams, the hard bits they bring to the race are nearly all custom and latest spec...

When we got that pit tour in Montreal last year w/ the Virgin team, they told us that all bits of data are upped back to the factory in real-time. So anything they gained in data, should be safe.

I'm sure they collect TBs of data during the race, can't be that easy to get all of that data back to the factory "in real time". I'd bet their real issues could be with carbon fiber - might be tough for the factory to hand make wings, side pods, engine covers, etc. on short notice.
