This is cool, but isn't this a huge risk for Macca? They're kinda starting over twice - new regs next year, new engine supplier year after. And Honda will be a year behind everyone else's refinements.

Maybe. But part of me thinks that Honda knows so much with motors, that it won't be a problem. Plus, while other engine suppliers resources are split, Honda has to only worry about the '15 season. That's 2 seasons away while MB/Ferrari/Renault split their development between racing and building engines...I think they'll be okay.

Likely to have already been secretly working on the engines for a while now.

I totally get that, but they'll have 19 or 20 less races of data than every other engine supplier in 2015. That being said, I'm not sure how the homologation rules work after the change.

Fair enough. I'm sure McLaren will have some data they can give to Honda that is not Mercedes specific. After all, the ECU is still a Microsoft-McLaren (MES) system.

Seriously, if the races suddenly become boring again I hope everyone who was crying before gets a used Pirelli shoved up their ass, sideways.

Boullier said it best...it's like changing the football field length b/c your players can't run the entire field mid-season. This should be illegal actually...

Merc summoned to FIA tribunal over the Pirelli test.

Slap on the wrist in 3... 2... 1...

Honestly they should just add some test days for all of the teams on the Monday after the races, people have been suggesting this for AGES. Why the fuck is it so damn difficult?

Seriously...your teams are out there, there's no extra costs in flying to a new location, MotoGP has proved this to be massively successful....Don't...under...stand...their...logic.

Awesome to see the level of respect and camaraderie between two guys who have been in the game a long time.

It was interesting to hear that they don't think that F1 is not the end all of driving and that they can enjoy karting and would like to try other series as well...

Vettel to Ferrari in 2016 :run:
Alonso to retire in 2017 after his contract expires :noes:

Red Bull has announced it has extended Sebastian Vettel's contract until the end of the 2015 season.
The world champion, who has won three consecutive titles with the Milton Keynes-based squad, had a contract until the end of 2014, but will now stay on for at least another year after the extension of the deal.
Vettel first drove for Red Bull in 2009 and has won 28 races with the team, scoring 50 podiums and 38 pole positions.
The 25-year-old German became the youngest ever triple champion last year and is currently leading this year's championship by 36 points after winning last Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix.

In time, Vettel will be looked at as one of the greatest. But right now, in our time...by staying with one team, he's looking like one of the weakest.
